>>10971119 I think they’re going to see a lot of people going for only one night now, 50$ is going to be too high to justify going multiple nights for most people imo
I took Friday and Saturday off but desu desu I don't know if I wanna go anymore. I was just gonna camp in my car at least for Saturday night but the cosplays I wanna do are full body suits.
>>10971284 I love Colossal but even my first year, first con ever, felt that the waterpark afterhours was kind of lame. There's much better partying to do there without paying for any pass.
Every year, without fail, getting there is an adventure in itself when you're not even kinda local. Makes the payoff on arrival all the more satisfying
Holy mother fucking shit is it eeeeeeempty here. Holy hell. Empty for a Friday night at fucking Colossalcon PRIME, as compared to previous times I've gone. It's so goddamn unironically fucking JOEVER chat...
>>10972184 yeah man ain't nobody do the con at this con, everyone is spending time across the resort. been that way for over a decade just like I'm shocked to still see a general for this con still pops up here.
My first all four day colossal but been coming on and off for years and man this shit sucks with just one or two friends here How do normies have such large friend groups does anyone here wanna do some gay shit or cuddle? Depressed
Colossal pros and cons this year for me, i borrowed my roomies VIP badge since he was selling cards and i was selling games on wednesday and sunday. I also been going on and off since 2018, longest i stayed prior was either 2022 or 2023 with just fri-sun, this time was wed-sun
+ most variety of cosplay i seen yet, got alot of pics (need to start renting a professional camera next year) + Staff seemed pretty chill this year, thought i left my wallet in the artist alley thing and they let me skip waiting in line again to go find it, it was in my hoodie pocket. +free stuff, this year was great for free random junk, someone gave me a whole ass ps2 with like 10+ games wedneday night, i also gave out around 2-300 pokemon cards so if some white guy in a scribblenauts hat handed you cards that was me +lines this year were very fast and organized, i did have line jump tickets but i only needed them twice, but i also didnt go to many panels so didnt wait as long + Deltarune photoshoot was a great highlight for me, i love that crowd and they were very chill, also Mr Frog and jesus were there so that was cool. +room parties, people were chill at room parties and i also got some decent drinks too. +villa parties. Was my first year actually going to them and they were cool. I heard about the friday night crowd totally trashing the place which isn't cool at all but i will touch on that in my negatives +flea market, minus two dickheads with main character syndrome. I found some pretty good shit and got some good deals, Line skip ticket was nice for this atleast. +video game room was cool this year, gaming classic setup hard carried it, still not a fan of the dedicated console room being gone and the prices staying the same, i miss the tournaments and the 2018/2019 setup of the room, buncha of weeb shit music games feels like a downgrade but the ridge racer machine was a cool new addition +off topic but i found 50$ on the floor in dealer room, so that was cool. 1/2
>>10972247 +Had a great time selling old shit i had lying around, hardly got any low balls either so it was nice to downsize on Wednesday and sunday, thanks to anyone who stopped by. +Not really con related but i saw Backrooms saturday and thought it was really good, also a nice break from the giant crowd +I found all the random spur of the moment activities to be fun, i saw the knights of the round table talk to a french qt mouse girl and they did a whole bit, also i roomed with a mr frog/aquabat cosplayer and him handing out bugs and seeing peoples faces was quite funny, sorry if i looked dead inside with him though lol, i hardly slept the whole time. also shoutouts to all the random stuff at the harambe statue and the random flags/voting things on the hotel floors.
Time for negatives - Every year colossal feels tight and tigher like a can of sardines but this year felt worse than any other, i am a skinny mofo and i been to about 25+ cons now so i am pretty used to navigating around but this year was for sure the most i bumped into or got bumped by people, it wasnt the biggest deal but im just glad i wasnt carrying a drink or anything fragile around. Its wild how a place so big still feels so cramped - Wasn't really a fan of the longer hallway by events 1 being randomly closed off when there were lines, felt like you shouldnt have to go allll the way down just to be greeted with a cone and tape. More annoying than a true negative
- Artist Alley/Dealer Room prices were worse than ever, fuck that one booth selling video games that were overpriced beyond hell. 140$ for an original ds thats hanging off the side is retarded. Also charging 30$+ on ANY import games (sfc,n64,famicom) is retarded, anyone can get mk64 japan for 8$ on ebay, they were selling it for 50 LOOSE. I don't understand why they are allowed to have a giant spot every year.
-Bag check for the main rave concert is fucking asine and retarded,It made me just skip the whole concert as a whole 2/3 now
>>10972249 3/? -Villa issues were insanely disrespectful to the people who were renting them and even offering free parties, i personally didnt see anything happen but i read the colossal 21+ fb group and got a pretty decent run down. it sucks that colossal is becoming more like a shitty fratboy meetup than the older chill vibe it had going, alot of the vibe felt off this year.
-to add to that, i for sure noticed alot more rude people this year, i got alot of dirty/awkward/mildly threatning stares this year and i wasnt even cosplaying, i feel bad for any women in bikinis that probably got harassed or cat called too. I just dont like the vibe of this year and in previous years i would mingle and talk to more randoms (i still did just not as much) this year i kept alot more quiet than usual.
-Fuck that one asshole in the flea market that was trying to buy out a whole plush box, and the sellers husband was away from the booth and was the one selling it and the asshole was being a dick about me looking in the box because i didnt notice it until i heard him bring it up, and then i looked in the box and he said something like 'hey man im trying to buy the whole box, can you not?' and i said 'no offer or sale was made and the guy isnt even here so im going to look' i didnt find shit anyways and the dude didnt even end up buying the box, so people just being assholes for the love of the game i guess
-night swim was ass, i usually go and hang out for a few hours but i only spent like 40 mins there this time, was just over crowded and the hot tub wasnt even hot and it didnt seem worth it
- People really seemed to have a cough this year, i hope i dont get any con crud since i start a new job in two days.
Thats really all i got, i didnt go to any panels but three, transformers one (guy hosting was an asshole imo), 18+ ms paint i found horribly cringe and left, and the in character cosplay contest was cringe to sit through but the gideon cosplayer was based. i rate con 7/10
>>10972250 Also fuck that one guy selling a 3ds xl for 300$ that was scratched to shit and a steam deck for 700 because 'valve increased the prices' yeah retard, valve increased the prices for BRAND NEW ONES, you stupid fuck. how would i know the battery health if all the buttons work if you fucking spilled anything on it if its not hard ware banned from any games if anything internal was changed but yeah, no charge 600+ for a used deck with not even a piece of paper describing specs or any potential issues, fuck you man.
i wish i couldve cloned myself so i could go to colossalcon, dokomi, twitchcon >>10972252 ngl if the 3ds xl is scratched to shit, the steam deck prob isnt much better lol
One thing i hated about the villa parties when I was there was the complete lack of lighting when it got dark outside. Couldn't see shit at all. Handing out buzzball shots outta syringes was pretty fun. I gotta do that more the next time.
>>10972270 Dude must have been on some crazy ass drugs or some sort of concoction. A lot of witnesses said he was going ballistic and when the cops finally got him he was laughing like the Joker and did not seem to give a shit.
>>10972290 Reminds me of a dude i saw at Katsucon this year. Shirtless, being escorted back to his room and completely off his rocker. He faceplanted in the hallway.
I need to stop going to this con with a huge group. End up not doing shit because everyone wants to do different stuff, and there's already a million things to do at Colossal.
>>10972404 At this point, I've just conceded that I'll only browse vendor hall in a group if I'm bored. Trying to seriously shop is a fool's errand >>10972416 Also this. Hanging around a bunch of folks during daylight hours exists just to validate going off on your own even more from the sheer aggravation of it all
I've never been to a con with a pool. how do you get past the disgust of sharing water with stinky obeasts, surely the chlorine is not enough to accept bumping into one of them?
>>10972444 Not him but this is a random picture I took of the night swim at Prime, as a saw a cubone group walking by. Please use this as an example for your average BMI in ohio
