If you asked and they agreed they probably aren't trying to look mad on purpose. As someone who does a good deal of photos at events, sometimes I'm just tired or hungover from a party(depending on the hour you ask). Could be any number of reasons, trying to hold in a fart, need to piss/shit, just fucking tired, don't realize you took the photo before I was ready and wasn't fully in pose, etc
