>>22053138 I like em both, sometimes without cheese and always with grilled mushrooms, onions, peppers. But it's been a while since I've enjoyed either.
>>22053195 Sub "peppers" for jalepenos. Mushrooms always. Sometimes I go for "hoagie style" cheesesteaks. Add lettuce, tomato, red onion, oil & vinegar, oregano and a bit of mayo. It used to be a specialty at my local bar before it shut down.
>>22053515 It's hilarious to me that SEPTA must've hired some nonlocal cuntfuck to write copy because their ad campaign about how bags belong on bus seats like lettuce belongs on a cheesesteak is pure fucking nonsense. Whoever wrote that bullshit moved to Philadelphia last Tuesday and is larping as a local. It's clear they've never heard of a cheesesteak hoagie. And the fact that it went beyond brainstorming phases and into actual, printed advertisements proves that not a single person anywhere asking the way is actually from Philadelphia.
>>22053779 Most ad agencies are based out of cities like New York and therefore you're getting a New Yorker view of Philadelphia. One common thing/annoyance is Bodega Men putting lettuce and tomato on Philly Cheesesteaks, so likely it's the same perspective as when people act like someone is gonna get catatonic if you're in Chicago and put ketchup on a hot dog
>>22053138 Last time I ate a cheese steak I got the worst hot poops I’ve had in my life. It was so bad I kept starting nonstop. I ruined 3 pairs of underwear and one couch cushion. The most humiliating was looking for some Dr Thunder at Walmart and I just shit all over the aisle. I ran with poop just leaking out of my cargo shorts.
>>22054478 how can people eat this much this fast? i love bread, but letting it get soggy by putting greasy meat from the grill right on it, god damn that's soupy, icky bread
>>22053138 Provolone makes for an overly dry sandwich and is basically inedible IMO unless you add mayo to the bread. For some reason a lot of people swear by provolone even though it just makes an objectively inferior steak. I like whiz and white american about equally and will go back and forth when I make them at home. I usually just do peppers and onions but when I buy them from a shop sometimes I will get mushrooms or jalapenos too. Not a fan of the "hoagie" style with fresh toppings, I just don't think they work with what a cheesesteak is supposed to be.
>>22055074 Pretty much. Whiz is used for cheez fries but for cheesesteaks, the original, by Pat's, was provolone. Whiz was first used by Geno's to feed Midwestern tourists why found provolone too challenging. Not even joking.
>>22055074 depends how you define people. kids like whiz. their fathers make them grow up and switch to provolone or at least american. you may notice similar trend with other foods.
