This really is proper etiquette thoughbeit. I wouldn't expect the unrefined muricans on this board to understand. If the French colonized America, this is how everyone that isn't trailer trash would butter their bread.

I will have you know that I am from continental Europe and manners are part of our culture not a class thing, no sir. The only people that don't follow these basic rules are immigrants and lower class people. Of course you don't have to break bread in to bite sized pieces in a casual setting but in a restaurant if you don't know about this rule you will get dirty looks from the waiter for sure. I am merely trying to inform the cu/ck/s on this board about proper etiquette. Maybe you can try this the next time you have a family get together or use it to impress a girl on a date or something.

No, (you)'re parents are. If they weren't you wouldn't be a lower class cretin, you filthy cretin!

Mmm, Canada is part of the British commonwealth no? They are known to be mannerless heathens.
>>22053622
You called me an extremely nasty word and I took issue with it. Am I supposed to ignore a comment like that? Do you think it is decent to be called retarded by someone and to let it slide? You lower class people always pointing fingers! Maybe you should point one at yourself so you can escape out of poverty and maybe learn some manners no?

Who are you trying to fool? People haven't typed this way for 20 years. You're just an indian or dysgenic westerner imitating obsolete human behavior hoping to fit in lol. Like a monkey trained to perform for a circus audience.

I am positively amazed at all the negative reactions my post is getting. I wanted to share this simple bread buttering restaurant rule thinking at least some anons would be familiar with it. I don't come from a crazy fancy background and not everyone in my family will eat like this but it is a thing mindful people genuinely do where I live lol Also it's actually quite pleasant to eat bread like this, I recommend everyone try it. Personally I like to sprinkle some quality Tellicherry pepper on top of my little piece of bread after buttering it. I mean the English and Asian cultures have rituals when it comes to drinking tea but when a European tries to educate fellow westerners on the proper way to butter bread I am pretentious or LARPing lololol???
>Time and place
No there are universal rules obviously like fork in the left and knife in the right hand.
>>22053685
I strongly disagree. Some videos on this channel are a bit much though. Like this one seems a bit ridiculous rofl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQy1i-sK1fs

Good point anon, I never looked at the matter from this point of view. You have to remember though, the waiter is judging you directly, but your company might not be so direct. And if you follow bad etiquette they might not invite you for the next occasion.

This is good bait. It was highly likely the uneducated and classless people with mental illness would shed a few tears and act as ignorant as always. Oh, they're all from one country. That's a shock. And that country is... ohh OK... ha of course.

italians dip in olive oil not butter
should have larped as french or bonglish not 'european'. as if a finn, portuguese and albanian would consider their etiquette interchangeable

I literally typed in Dutch to show I am am from the Benelux nigger. Anyways, kind of sad every anon ITT is doing the "nice LARP fag" thing. I know for a fact this is not the norm everywhere but it is where I am from. I don't expect anons that have never dined at a Michelin starred restaurant to act like they know anything about anything but hey you know this is the food and cooking board so I thought trying to spread basic dining etiquette might help the low body count losers in this thread to maybe get some status points through etiquettemaxxing or something.
>Italians dip in olive oil
Actually Italians are great butter lovers. They even have a special variety I don't expect you to have tasted which is called burro di bufala, the more you know huh cooklet fucking bitch!

Your true feelings, when you get angry, are that actually there is a class-based hierarchy and this way of eating bread is about asserting your place in that hierarchy. You were lying earlier when you said you thought it was about good manners alone.
That's what "the mask coming off" means.
You talk like a retarded person's idea of what an intelligent person sounds like. A few grammar errors to boot for someone who probably thinks those are very important, even on 4chan.
I can see the merit of eating bread like this in a restaurant or at a dinner party. That isn't the point. I just don't like you specifically.

fuck off. I'm not watching your cultural appropriation video. the likelihood I would ever need this information or give shit if I did is zero.
etiquette is for people with more money than brains. I have lots of both.
>>
>>22054045
>I have plenty of both
Maybe you do, but you are also very small minded if you think a classy Asian gentleman teaching manners and etiquette is something to be wary of. For example: If you followed proper 4chan etiquette you wouldn't be using Reddit spacing because you would be mindful of board culture you uncouth upstart!

I think you are projecting man. I literally made this thread because I love the APWASI Youtube channel. The videos are funny concise and educational. I think you dislike me for being a proud cultured European that likes to eat his bread in bite sized pieces when the occasion calls for it. You remind me of pretentious American tourists who expect us to act and be a certain way.
