Why does nobody start an ice cream truck anymore this seems like an easy ass way to basically ~x20 your direct cost
>>
>>22055763
Probably tons of shit now, licenses insurance etc
>>
>>22055768
Yeah but your inventory for an entire month is like maybe $400 worth of wholesale ice cream. Licensing fees won't be a problem once a month and sure insurance payments might be a chunk but what else do you have to pay for?? Gas? If you only made even $200 a day and only worked 3 days a week you'd still make 2.4k a month. I am a retard please educate me

Kids barely play outside anymore. They just hang out by parks in my area now or they exist at outdoor food halls. More on that below.

Where I live, it's actually gotten easier to start an ice cream truck business than it used to be because of the popularity of food trucks. The municipality even set up outdoor "food halls" with seating and tables (IE formerly abandoned lots) where trucks can be parked permanently and sell food/ice cream from. I'm not sure how it works but I would guess the lots are city-owned and business pay rent for the space. There are three such "halls" within walking distance of my house.

I’m not saying you’re wrong but I’m sure it’s not as easy as it seems. Plus there is competition even if not much it’s there

I mean the ice cream trucks, not children

I saw many of these abandoned lot food trucks when I lived in the northeast and to my memory never saw anyone ordering at one of them. The ice cream truck comes to your driveway and I think that's a huge advantage in post online order era

There's one that comes through my neighborhood most days.During the height of summer, it comes through a second time around 10pm.
If you're interested in the economics, there are several ice cream truck operators on YouTube. My general impression is that it's not a path to getting rich. If you're good at hustling, it can provide a lower middle class life, bordering on lower class. It's very seasonal so you have to have other things going on and be good with managing money.

what makes you think youre getting $200 a day? kids are in school 9 months a year. and you need to find open territory or you might end up dead. going to cost at least $50k to get set up with a truck that doesnt look like a rape van. and that truck has 10 years max before its bleeding money in maintainance.
ultimately the tell is the price. if there was any real money in it they wouldnt charge $5 for a popcicle because there would be 6 trucks selling them for $4. they charge $5 because that lets them barely squeek by like almost everyone else in food service. only banks landlords and insurance companies really make money
