I get that to some extent. Some of my favorite shos are tragic. What I'm more referring to is the tonal contrast between creating this sort of especially sweet and innocent sho and then subjecting them to especially depraved and senseless trauma. It's both extremes of the spectrum at the same time and I think it's just too much whiplash for me. And I think the senselessness is a big part of it. It doesn't even feel right to call it tragic. It's just pointless misery. Which is admittedly more realistic, but I think that also contributes to my not liking it.
