Basically everyone here has talked about wanting sho x sho stories. But what would be anons' preferred ways to go about that?
Would you prefer a dedicated romance where the boys' relationship is basically the entire story? Or would you rather the main plot be something else, like an adventure, with the romance developing as a subplot? Or maybe something in between where there is some other story going on but it's mostly just a backdrop for developing the romance?
What are your thoughts on depicting the taboo of homosexuality? Would you want it be like real life where that's a major obstacle in the relationship with the boys being worried what the other will think and they have to deal with stigma from their peers and families? Or the other extreme of a world where boys loving one another is totally normal and angst free? Or, again, something in the middle where het is still the norm and there might be some apprehension about whether the other boy will reciprocate, but there isn't much of a societal taboo?
And then what about other details like age of the boys, how long the story follows their lives and relationship, setting, how much drama, and how much, if any, sex is included?

It has a good mystery and characters but I'm so done with it personally. It's obvious the manga is only running because it's GFantasy's cashcow and ending it would be a huge loss for them.

Seasons 1-2 are great as a conclusion to the story and I don't blame anyone for stopping there. I think the anime staff predicted 90% of the story's ending anyway.

The most important thing for me is that it's believable. The characters, the setting, their actions, their emotions, their reactions, etc. Lots of different kinds of stories can work as long as the characters feel like real people and not just one-dimensional strawmen or stereotypes. Personally I prefer when romance is a subplot of a bigger story and the love between the shos comes from spending so much time together and becoming extremely close. My fantasies deliberately omit characters that would be against the boys solely for their romantic and sexual preferences, and instead the boys are their enemies for bigger reasons (like foiling their plans or being obstacles for an important goal).
