Thanks. I'll admit to doing only a cursory amount of research since I'm supposed to be revising, but I think Alastor's success in the army would depend on what he actually did. Maybe if he got over to Europe, he would enjoy it more, since Jim Crow wasn't a thing over here and the locals weren't so keen on imposing it.

Thanks. If we don't get it in the show, I'd still love to see Alastor's full backstory in some format. I don't have a proper headcanon for it, but there are several things that would fit and it would be nice to know what really happened in his past. Viv has definitely thought about it.

Ah, she made a comment on Danidraws's post on Bluesky (because of course...). The whole attitude towards Charlastor is aggravating, and I'm saying that as someone who dislikes and actively avoids engaging with the ship. For any other ship you wouldn't get so many people jumping in to make sure everyone knows it's unofficial and it's just a silly raffle, obviously no one really likes Charlastor because that's crazy. The amount of little digs against the ship is so annoying, far outweighing the few irritating fans I've seen. Viv adding her voice to that just pisses me off. Charlastor hate is normalised in this fandom and perpetuated by the creator and her buddies. Over what, some fans being annoying years ago?
Amir knew what he was doing. Since it was a random selection, there was no reason why he couldn't have fudged the draw to choose a less controversial ship, or come up with a "funny" answer. The whole situation leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Imo Dani is worse in this situation. Viv said something similar when Amir and Christian made the print that hinted at RS. Dani just jumps out and says 'Viv doesn't like the ship', which is 10x more inflammatory than anything said up until this point. I will continue to ship it just to spite them, but Amir knew what he was doing, he should have said something safe like Cherisnake or something. Viv is a control freak with an army of fujos behind her who clap like seals whenever she says anything against a straight ship with Al or Vox. I miss the pilot era where people just posted what they liked and that was it.

Charlastor gets the worst of it, but she's been hostile towards just about any straight ship involving Charlie, at least that's what people have implied. Basically anything that isn't yaoislop or the most bland, basic bitch hetslop imaginable. For a 'romance' writer she writes absolute dogwater ships, so her being critical of anything is humorous.

It's actually funny that you mention it, my husband says the same thing, the Alastor cards are too dark and do a disservice to the art. You need to shine a light on them to properly appreciate them.

To elaborate, I know he was raised Muslim, but I was under the impression he converted since he's quoted numerous Bible verses. Even still abortion is haram in Islam and can only be done prior to 120 days of gestation and only for rape, incest, and severe fetal anomalies. I can't really speak on Amir's religious convictions, all I can find on the subject is the fact he was raised Muslim. I think he saw the word "Lilith" and jumped on it, knowing that it's somewhat related to Hazbin and so it would get more attention. I think the entire thing was badly thought out, and I'm tired of both the crew involving themselves with shipping and shippers of all flavours involving them with fandom shit. All it does is cause arguments. I'm sure it got a lot of donations, but at what cost to the fandom.
Actually it's good timing, because I need to engage less with Hazbin shit and more with revision. Thanks Amir for making things unbearable.

Most of us here are pretty indifferent I'd say. Not wanting it to actually happen the show, not allowing ship art in a yume thread, and recognizing that some shippers are insufferable isn't the same as hating the ship. If anything I actually tolerate RA more than RS at this point because of the whole MM stuff. Too many people take criticism as blanket statement against their ships, it's unfortunate. I ship Charlastor and I'm well aware that some of them are schizo.

I pointed out that they're probably always going to be put together because they're currently the only 'single' characters. With the HB stuff, that's par for the course I guess. If I had to guess Viv is heavily influenced by the people that she surrounds herself with like Dani.

Well, unless Viv goes full retard and breaks them up for RA, anyway. With the limited characters who get merch, who do you pair Alastor up with anyway? If they did Vox the discourse would be about breaking up SM for RS. With Charlie and it would be about breaking up Chaggi for Charlastor. There's no good option for characters that he actually has meaningful interaction with in the show because they're all canonically in relationships with other people. I hope people are joking when they say things like that, but you never know. Regardless, it's a shitty thing to joke about.

I think it's pretty wishful thinking with the RAs that Lucilith will break up. After all in the 'matching' merch set we literally had a postcard with Lucifer saying he loves his wife. I expect ship bait, but that's it. I do understand being devastated by it, as I'm sure I'd be very rattled myself, but joking about self harm is never good. It's impossible to pair Alastor with anyone at this point without people being weird, I'm afraid.

I do think there is a chance they might break up, they're at least going to go through some heavy strife next season. But, I really doubt it will be just so Lucifer can fall into Alastor's arms, if that is the case. It would be impossible to pull off getting out of a deeply devoted 10000 year relationship just to get over it immediately with some guy that has annoyed you for maybe a year at most. The only people who believe that will happen are deluded. For my own headcanons, I generally see Lucilith as being amicably broken up when it comes to RA. I don't really see the need to demonise a character we've barely seen just to justify a ship. It's just a fantasy though, I'm intrigued to see how it'll all play out in canon (as someone who also likes Lucilith) but I'm definitely not expecting canon romantic RA. I don't actually know how I'd handle it becoming canon at this point, I'd definitely dip for a while at least because the backlash would be horrendous. I can see Alastor kind of inserting himself into the Morningstar family, he still has that admiration for Charlie and he finds Lucifer entertaining. He was successfully able to manipulate Charlie into making a deal with him, and use that deal to break his deal with Rosie. I don't know if the whole seven years thing coinciding with Lilith's disappearance will mean anything, but there's a chance that it's relevant as well. It's fairly clear his future lies with the Morningstars in some capacity, in my opinion.

I would personally find it utterly hilarious if Alastor were having an affair with Lilith and that's why they were both MIA for seven years. Alastor would be everything Lucifer isn't in terms of a powerful being in Hell, one that can actually hurt sinners as well. I can see if Lilith wanted an uprising Alastor would be of more value fhan her husband. That might also explain why Charlie is of interest to Al and why he hates Lucifer. In such a scenario Lucifer would discover this relationship but be unable to harm Al, leading to high drama. Charlie would have 'two dads' in a sense as well. Lucifer and Lilith would eventually work out their marital issues and everything would be saved by the power of friendship per the norm. I'm probably 100% off mark but I feel like this would make more sense than RA becoming canon.

I do think Lucilith are endgame, and I think from the way Viv spoke about the way Lucifer and Alastor's relationship is going to develop, it's fairly safe to assume it isn't going to be some soppy romance where Alastor sweeps Lucifer off his feet and makes his fee-fees all better. I can see Alastor being attracted to Lilith as well, she's strong and spirited, with the ability to empower sinners. More power for the strongest sinner. And yes, it would explain why he immediately took a disliking to Lucifer. I've seen theories like, he originally tried to summon Lucifer but Lucifer just didn't answer and so Alastor held a grudge, which only got worse once they met. It sounds a bit convoluted for the show, but it would be nice to have something deeper than "they just don't vibe with each other". Idk, if they are setting up for RA then it would be nice for it to have some actual basis.

There's a reason why most of my RA fics have them already in a relationship, and the one I'm currently writing is moving at a glacial pace. (four chapters in and they're no closer to getting together... haha) Idk if Lilith could have broken the deal, wouldn't she just be a sinner herself? Though it's kind of a weird thing because did she die when she was cast into Hell with Lucifer, or what? It would be interesting if she functioned more like one of the Hellborn. There are lots of myths about her out there but who knows what Viv will choose to add into the story. Rosie is a whole other beast, anyway. Lilith is likely to be a clusterfuck, especially after all this build up. Viv has good ideas, but terrible execution. Her writing just isn't good enough to do the characters justice, and she's shit at taking criticism. I have low expectations, hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised.

See I don't really need to put much effort in since I need 40% to pass the module and I already nearly got pretty much 30% from the coursework. Next year I need to worry about grades because it actually counts towards my degree. The keychain is the one from the maid cafe, I was going to see if I can get it on mercari but someone uploaded it on vinted so that saves me using buyee. The deer has such pretty eyes on it.

Ah, yes, that's annoying... for us the exam is worth 70%. I'm getting better at exams, thankfully. Next year I'll be ok, just need 70% overall to get a first. I'd imagine they're the cheapest things to produce, so you'd think they'd have more? If I'm being honest, so much of the merch artists' independent work is far superior to the official work they've done for A24. American VVitchcraft is a good example. Her official pins are 'meh', while her personal ones can be stunning.

Embarrasingly human Alastor is like 27th for me... Most of them though are interchangeable and it would probably change depending on the day. It confirms my preference for demon Al though.
I feel like a lot of the older merch is better. I saw a bag on vinted yesterday with chibi Charlie and Alastor and it was so cute, I would have bought it if I was into Charlastor. Unfortunately, a lot of the older merch is really expensive secondhand, especially with the deer tax. I mostly buy things if they pop up and the price doesn't fill me with dread. I think if I actually went through and made a list of ISOs, I'd have a breakdown.

There was so much Charlastor stuff back during the pilot days, which is why I've told people that 'proving' anything with merch is not the best of ideas. Based on the merch then most people would have assumed Charlator was real lol. Regardless I'm glad Viv shot down the merch theories. My ISOs are mostly pins that I know I'll probably never find, or pins that I'm just not going to pay $100+ for, like the BatsyBunny Lvlup pin that originally sold for $25. These con exclusive items are painfully annoying.

I don't like how much stuff is now con exclusive. It's getting beyond just having a nice souvenir of the event. Is it that hard to just make a special variant for a con, or something? Idk, with the way things are right now with scalpers etc, it just feels bad. It just encourages that kind of behaviour. Or you end up with situations like Faeymouse's fancards, who got abuse because she put up leftovers and there were a bunch of people who couldn't buy them.
I'll stop ranting about it haha, I know that they're not technically doing anything wrong by having exclusives but it feels bad anyway. There shouldn't be so much discourse around printed paper and plastic, I swear. I got to order the stupid deer face cushion earlier, so it's actually a good day.

Blind boxes can die in a fucking fire. Outside of my doujins and trading cards, all of my merch is Alastor bar 2 RS standees. I do not want any other characters, and I know if I have to buy deer merch second hand it will always cost more than nearly every other character. I think they do have a problem, every time I open youtube I'm bombarded with videos about opening packs of Pokemon cards and things like that. It's a little scary. I'm just tired of behaviour that encourages scalpers, both from big companies and smaller creators. Not that I can really speak, my GTBBOTA card I bought off ebay should be here tomorrow.

Even with Alastor merch I'm reluctant to buy blind bags. The last thing I want is a Vox colored Alastor, ha. This is especially true when creators might send duplicates. I mostly want the pink outfit, so it can go with the Valentine's standee, and some stickers. It's fairly bland, but it's cheap enough.
