I saw some complaints about how much merchandise the two got in the JP drop on twitter but Alastor’s merch sold out within hours and Vox soon after. It’s almost as if merchandise meant for the Japanese audience would focus on the characters that the Japanese fans like most crazy concept.

If you look at the Parco plushies as an example, I don’t think Charlie ever technically sold out, but Alastor and Vox sold out instantly all the times they were restocked. I doubt they want merch that won’t sell hanging around for months like that. Plus it was the Vox season, and he, Alastor and Pentious got their human forms revealed. It makes sense they got the most merch. Either they need to pay up and actually buy the merch, or stop whining.

In all honesty it really comes down to westerners versus easterners rather than specific character fans because I can think of some real shithead western Alastor fans that have joined in on bullying eastern artists too. On the Japanese side of the fandom it’s way more tolerable, I fucking hate the western interpretation of radioapple but I like a lot of Japanese radioapple art because the artists making it actually like and understand Alastor and aren’t just using him as a dildo to fuck Lucifer.

The doujins are just so good, I can't resist. I already got Megashi's somnophilia RS doujin and now I ordered the 52 page one by Shikasenbee. I figure that I'll always love the memories for this ship even if it gets ruined by the show or fandom. Plus owning art made by someone who is really passionate for a ship I love is really neat.

That sounds so fun and wholesome. I will never have anything bad to say about the Japanese subset of this fandom, it's always been gold and all the fujos in it are so nice. I even find myself reading their radiostatic fics on pixiv because they hit the flavor I like most for these two.

I think this highlights the biggest difference between the Amazon JP versus Spindlehorse merch models. Amazon JP is a business and their drops are designed around what the Japanese fanbase are most likely to buy while Spindlehorse is just making merchandise that Vivzie and her personal close circle enjoy without thinking of the greater consumer model for her show.

Fair enough. Radioapple is inevitable at this point regardless of if I don’t care for it. I’m shocked that any Vox fan would be in denial that staticmoth is endgame with both Smiles and Sam at the helm. I really wish they would partner with a Japanese company to do more high quality figurines instead of standees because I love figures but am not into standees. I have the Alastor nendoroid and both banpresto figures even though they’re not the best quality compared to some of my other figures. There are no JP made Vox figures at all yet. I don’t have the funkos or youtooz because I prefer Japanese manufacturers.

I have to say spending time in the east asian side of the fandom and going back to the western side feels like a different universe. In Japanese Hazbin chats there are radiostatic, appleradio, charlastor, staticmoth, and adamsapple shippers all getting along. Alastor is pretty much always the uke in both rs and ra. I think it helps that people there are just having fun shipping instead of constantly going,
