So the Lucyspace memory loss Paulo always experiences has hit a critical point
Also go on Taeshi, I want you to write this as "Lucy caught the presence of Mike and is anxious about it", I dare you to show LitS didn't matter at all
>>
>>
It’s funny, water parks probably have a much higher body count but I feel way safer there than on a rollercoaster
I’m a little confused by the geometry here. Lucy’s looking to the side blankly, then back at Mike regretfully, then further back at Mike shocked when Paulo calls to her?

She's obviously experiencing mind trauma at the mere existence of Mike and thus he must be expelled
>>
>>
>>153243563
I think it's simply because a rollercoaster goes faster, but if a waterslide goes wrong you're way more likely to end up on a wheelchair or just straight up drowning, they should invite Mike to the water park, it'd be funny
>>
>>
>>153243563
Waterparks have the logic of "people could drown so they must have ways to keep them from drowning" while rollercoasters don't have a "guy in charge of catching everyone if the cart falls", there's a bigger sense of finality to that kind of accident

So, business as usual.

Oh, Lucy's worried about Mike, again, like in the intro to Double Down.
I can't tell who is dumber. Mike, for being stupid and depressed and unable to stop taking Ls, or Lucy, for STILL going "oh but I luv him am sad" over the poor dumb fuck who she's alienated at every opportunity.

The more I think about it, the more I realize just how idiotic the plot of Line in the Sand was. The whole "Mike leads people on" idea was always stupid, but if she wanted that to carry any weight between Mike and James then she shouldn't have made James immediately move onto David and no longer give a shit about Mike. Imagine if James actually did really still like Mike, and he was trying to move on but felt like Mike's clinginess was giving him mixed signals and jerking him around. Then when James is given a reason to think Mike is just using his feelings, even if he's wrong his hurt would be more understandable and sympathetic. Mike would actually be losing a lot more if James went from a genuine connection to suddenly hating him. It could have been some easily milkable melodrama
But instead we have James who fawns over David and casually shits on Mike and forgets he exists. When James gets hurt he's just reacting to the idea that Mike maybe could have wanted to lead him on hypothetically. Because ever since James latched onto David, Mike couldn't have possibly led James on even if he wanted to because that just wasn't the dynamic between them anymore. So James just looks like a shallow and hypocritical snake and it's hard to sympathize with him being upset. It's not even as effective as Mike torture because James barely seemed to like Mike at all anymore even before this chapter happened. Pairing James and David the way she did just seems like Taeshi giving into her urge to mock and humiliate Mike at every opportunity at the expense of the story she's actually trying to tell.

Woah, woah, you're talking about cause and effect, events being set up beforehand and payed off after. That isn't how things are done in BCB. First, we get another cycle on Paulo's character pendulum, then any b-plots that threaten to be too interesting or fun are canceled, then we watch Lucy and/or Mike being a miserable asshole, and regardless of which of them it was Mike suffers for it.
These patterns will occasionally be broken by plot points that come out of nowhere, lead nowhere, and make no sense given established canon. Don't worry about those. They're the key events in the overall plot, but they make up a tiny minority of the comic - in a broad sense BCB is more a setting than a story.

Gotta say point blank, to her face, I am a terrible person and for your sake this is the last time we'll ever talk. No anger, no mewling, just pure "honesty" that leaves no room for reconciliation. Not a matter of believing it, just a matter of showing her I'm gone forever, just like she always wanted. As for Augustus, see that point about calling him a rapist every time he gets near me.
>>
>>
>>153249077
That was my idea too, with the
>"No, I'm clearly bad for your mental health and we'd just make each other miserable. I don't think we should even be friends."
If one got isekai'd into Mike, you've gotta keep Lucy away in a way that doesn't give her an opening to retaliate or hope. The only way to do that is to focus on why it's a bad idea for HER to maintain contact.
And Augustus can be kept at bay just by refusing to let him spin up his bullshit.

>"Did you see how she was dressed? Practically asking for it."Seriously though I find the way Daisy gets framed as "wanting it" because she was dressed up and "acting like a slut" extremely gross, especially with how Augustus's SA has been forgiven and forgotten. It's literally the exact kind of excuses made for IRL rapists, right down to "well he has a promising future ahead" with the college acceptance bit.
>>
>>153249999
If Lucy is what keeps the simps around (believe it or not there's still people that would put up with her just for pussy) then Augustus is what keeps the girls, so of course Taeshi needs to whitewash her marketable cat as much as possible because now he's a brand, and Daisy is part of the more tepid ship in the comic so she doesn't get to complain

Wasn’t Augustus into her because she didn’t know she was beautiful or something? Why would her dressing like she did know she’s beautiful turn him on?Thinking back, even Augustus’s crush on Daisy was groom-y. “She doesn’t know how amazing she is (so I can control her self esteem at will)

I know I already asked in previous thread but it was when it was almost archived
I am really curious to know why and how people see Fork in the Road 2 as this "Masterpiece" when is mid at best. How it made them cry, how good it was- I've seen none
A lot of things in the first half are stupid, and the Adrien or whatever his name was "POV" feels cringy. Add Sue cheating with her partner, and we have one of my least liked BCI. I already hated FitR1 so next time I won't follow people reactions as truthful and just stick with my gut. A big let down. The only positive is Porsh (and good for Lucy to move on in the end)

Sue being adulterously, rapily in love with Lucy is so far off the mark it feels like character assassination. She’s a moral crusader and she sees Lucy as someone to save. I just don’t get how love could possibly factor into that, at least in the way she’s expressed it

I do think the comic subtly slut shames Daisy but in this case I think the point is just that Daisy would've been less likely to go along with Augustus' plan if she hadn't had prior encouragement to pursue Mike despite already being in a relationship.
>>
>>153249999
A true shame Maisy never happened. I think they would've been good for each other, healthier than their canon relationships that's for damn sure.
I wanted to see Daisy comforting Mike over his parent's divorce.

Hey, he had his friends taken away from him, told he was always evil, and has almost nothing left to live for. Either he wastes away with nobody noticing until it's too late, or he goes out in a blaze of glory. Still better than being stuck with your longtime abuser for the rest of your life.

He'll waste away. Mike is depressed enough not to want to eat, but he wouldn't intentionally kill himself; unlike Lucy, he actually knows it would be bad to do that to his mom. When he collapses, will he be as light as Lucy?
>>
>>
>>153262715
I'd just like him to get some help without being blamed or told "he has a lot to atone for". But since I don't really have faith in that, I'd prefer Mike go in an extreme way or silently waste away and pass on quietly. Either way, he could leave this world without being hurt by others.
