The problem with arc is the same as every 'potential future' storyline, it's meaningless. I know it's all going to be undone with time travel, so why should I bother?
Also "The Matriarch" is a lame villain. Everything about her, the name, how forced she is, the costume being a 'le ebil' Wonder Woman, the bizarre medieval aesthetic, it's corny.
I don't care how many superheroes it's contrived that she kills, she isn't a compelling or threatening villain
