It's true powerscalers are exhausting but at the same time there has to be some amount of consideration for the characters' established power levels for the plot to remain narratively consistent. You have to jump through a lot of hoops to convince me Wolverine can beat Thanos you can't just have a 2 page fight that ends with Thanos dead on the floor
