>Solid first season
>Immediately turns into unwatchable slop after that

Invincible hasn't hit the lows beyond QUALITY animation
>>
>The Walking Dead
Showrunner of the first season was fired by AMC
>Invincible
They switched animation studios to in-house after Season 1 and started releasing seasons annually with an understaffed team with strict deadlines

Season 1 was better on average but NOTHING after Season 1 is as bad as Episode 4's animation

We're just starting to get into Invincible's down period storywise
But yes, Kirkman stories are always twice as long as they should be and he masks his inability to keep a story compelling with sudden gore
He's doing it in Transformers right now even and he's only been writing that book for less than a year

>make comic that is supposed to be subversive of others in its genre (zombie apocalypse but from the beginning, not the middle! evil superman!)
>as comic goes on, the premise fades away and it becomes exactly what it was teying subvert

i'd be happy if he'd just let their hair and beards stay grown out
superheroes are supposed to be the new mythology, the new gods. Masculine figures being so fucking cleancut is gross. even the greco-romans didn't do that with their gods, only the boys they buggered.

invincible doesn't really feel like your standard evil superman story it feels like a comic that's mixing together different surface level tropes to create drama and omni-man is just part of that. There's literally no reason for the viltrums to be so cartoonishly evil but they are for the sake of the plot.
