Loeb returned to DC after Didio got the boot and DC saw $$$$ with Hush I.

Was Hush really that popular, I feel like only the most normalfag retards actually liked it while actual fans and longtime readers shit on it to this day

Absolute dogshit book.
>I can't heckin' let the Joker die though!

Hush is popular because this book has been heavily shilled on recommended lists as something accessible. And Hush is just different enough to be interesting to plebs.

Not him, but I don't know why Hush is so recommended either, but then again I really did not enjoy either Knightquest nor No Man's Land, so I might just bounce entirely off the Bat
>>
I fucking hate Hush even more these days because almost ALL the cool 'regular' Batman figures are all fuckin Hush related. I just want a regular basic bitch Batman and it's always some variant of Hushslop.

heh, ditto, except I don't use such faggy words to describe it.

Same as all other media now, name recognition. "Hush?! I 'member that, wh-whoa!"
>>
>>153274393
Oh great... ANOTHER fucking 'mysterious figure from Batman's past is coming to haunt him and using all of his rogues as pawns...but the Joker is no one's pawn!! Meanwhile Babs, Dick, Jason, Damion, Gordon, Selina, remind Bruce that being Batman is stupid!'

Tiresome...

>Not him, but I don't know why Hush is so recommended either
Hush has plenty of the mainstay tropes of an accessible Batman book:
>Batman and Catwoman flirting.
>Batman briefly fights Superman (controlled by Poison Ivy).
>Bunch of different villains appear.
>Loeb is popular for other Batman stories (work with Tim Sale).
>Jim Lee art.
It isn't rocket science that this stuff speaks to people.

>but then again I really did not enjoy either Knightquest nor No Man's Land
Those books are more recommended for their "importance" rather than being good. This is the thing about recommended lists, they don't provide context. Some things are recommended because of accessbility. Some things are recommended out of infamy or importance. Some things are recommended because they're actually good. The problem is you get none of this information from reading a single list. Year One, Long Halloween, stuff like that is probably better to try.

Because Batman, that's why.

Genuinely amazing that the spinoff book got announced, published and cancelled before this got finished

The funny thing is that there was already a Hush sequel and many other Hush stories yet this is acting like it's the first one to come after the original. But that's because it's Loeb and Lee again which are two big problems since the writing's not good and the art is causing the massive delays.

Zdaraky and Tyrion killed sales so badly they had to break glass and do a sequel
