I remembered this the other day and checked if /v/'s equivalent, Console-Tans, were still around.
Really thought they weren't, but man was I wrong, they still have threads about them, they just had one last Tuesday.
It didn't reach bump limit, but the fact that they still have those weekly threads is honestly impressive nonetheless, but also kinda sad that /co/ couldn't keep up.

The one thing I'll forever be grateful about these threads is that it got me drawing every weekend.

I'll admit I was absolutely terrible back then. But I love that I met new friends and it drove me to improve. I do hate how it ended because of a certain anonymous euro asshole tried to take over the threads and try pushing a narrative in the end.

I never really got into channel-tans, but I thought it was a fun idea similar to board-tans that got way out of hand when people began making designs for any station and not just ones with a Predominant focus on Animation. Whatever retarded interpersonal drama happened (like the reply above mine referring to some /v/ schizo I don't know about because I seldom go on /v/), the idea was already on the outs from scope creep. The point of the tans is funny scenarios for interaction, which you can't really do when all your time is spent on developing a constantly growing cast. It's the same reason I dropped Komi-san and I never picked up "The 100 Girlfriends", because when you have or get to a certain quantity, it takes an incredible amount of talent to maintain quality. It's not an abortion of an idea, it's a toddler that drank something under the sink because nobody put any child-locks on that cabinet.

Not him, but while I think it's a sidegrade at best, and just Pepper Ann in a different font at worst, it's unnecessary either way when the original designs are already so beloved. There's no need to fix what isn't broken, and like I said earlier, the original designs are too good and iconic to change, specially with these new propositions, which aren't really as good imo.
There's also the fact that they were embraced naturally, Aipiepo didn't have to post them over and over and ask for others to draw them, they just became popular on their own, Barto on the other hand will just keep posting his design and requesting others to draw it, and when that fails, he'll just commission artists, it just feels annoying to see him try to force his design over one that has already been accepted for so long.
It's unneeeded, it's forced, and I honestly wish he'd stop, or just formally make her into an OC of his and detach her from Channel-Tans, that way he could at least ask for others to draw her without trying to replace the old one.

She definitely likes her new acquisitions, but weird, obscure, and shlocky stuff would still be her true love.
Maybe I'm just projecting, but that's what I watch the most on Tubi, no other streaming service is like it, it's WEIRD and it's FUN. Sure the new stuff is cool and I'm glad Tubi has gained popularity because of it, but to me, Tubi is always gonna be that weird streaming service with all the stuff that the others won't take, and will show it with pride.

Disney Channel is usually portrayed as the figurehead, but The Walt Disney Company is the true mastermind.
We never did get to do much with her tho, since Disney Channel was the more popular tan so she got more of the art and characterization.
