>>154104236 The designs after the movie felt weirdly ugly in a way that pre-movie designs didn't. Even Bubble Bass is more aesthetically pleasing than a lot of those post-movie designs, it's really weird. It's like as soon as the movie ended everyone forgot how to make designs that fit the aesthetic of the show. One of the telltales, although it's not present in OP's image, is that fish started to have humanoid hands for some reason, despite having had fins beforehand with Spongebob and his family being pretty much the sole exceptions.
>>154107512 They feel less like fish and more like humanoid seamen. It’s a similar problem to the Simpsons where they make all the guest stars too realistic and detailed for the art style.

>>154107862 Yes, that was the whole point of the episode that everyone around here seems to miss, the guy praised spinge bill cooking but kept calling it bad because it lacks self respect and selfworth and he will never get both until he asks the crab for a proper raise or quit in protest for a better place, until that day happens he will be just a glorified mc dicks burguer flipper. The guy literally told spongebob and the audience that they should thrive for more and not be conformists for people that don't appreciate them at all.
