Most content regarding conjoinment is of the vanilla two-headed kind, but since its main appeal is to deviate from the ordinary human body norm, more extreme or body horror-esque ideas seem natural to explore.

It really depends on what you count as "ultra-messy" (normies already consider two heads freakish) and how obscure it is.
As mentioned, two-headed characters are quite common, next to those with multiple arms or breasts (just take a look at the currently active conjoinment thread). It's not a complex idea, just multiplying existing body parts. And it's also a common mainstream concept, similar to how most monstergirl art is based on already existing mythological concepts (e.g. centaurs, mermaids, harpies, lamias/nagas, ...), instead of coming up with something new.
Anything beyond that gets into more peverse, but also creative territory. From an outsider's perspective, the images in this thread are fucked up (rightfully so), but instead of just slapping body parts together, there's some twisted ingenuity behind most of these artworks. To name a few
>boobs/ass or hands/feet swaps being based on the notion of replacing an anatomical feature with similar ones (by appearence or function (limb ends))
>mouth/asshole swaps as twisting (or this case reversing the direction of) biological processes
>queen conjoinments exploring the strange idea of mirroring the human body
If the artist manages to make it look somewhat anatomically feasible, then it's truly an crazy sight to behold, which might make you wonder how any of these insane ideas could realistically work. Needless to say, these obscure ideas are much harder to find because of this hurdle. Artists like xxxx52, Accessworld, Borusen and Null_Brainz frequently make content related to this.
