I get this weird satisfaction when clothes ripping just turns them into smaller clothes during growth. Long-sleeved shirt shreds into a tight singlet. A turtleneck functionally becomes a crop top. White tights shrinking as the toe sections tear open and turn them into stirrups. Trousers become short shorts, clinging to life over their growing asses.

Unpopular opinion

Too many artists and writers skip so much content, making their characters jump straight from 5'4" to 7 or 8 feet tall.
There are so many items and measurements between 5 and 7 feet that we see daily. You can squeeze so much description into those few inches! After that, descriptions between 7 feet and 10 feet are mostly the same, unless you're a skilled writer.

This is the best when the slowest though.

I agree, especially if we’re dealing with a scenario where the girl just wants to become tall by a wish or chemicals or whatever. A lot of fun can be had in that ‘perfect’ zone where she’s as tall as she wants to be, or even just building up to it and enjoying the spurts.
Then, of course, there’s that fun ‘okay, you can stop now’ part where she’s growing taller than she wanted. At first it’s ‘just an extra inch, no big deal’. Then she’s feeling her new, bigger wardrobe she’s picked out starts drawing tighter, and she’s no longer just a tall girl but actually unusually tall. She’s no longer eye level with the crush she grew for and now looming over them, or struggling to get into cars and so forth.
I somewhat disagree with seven to ten feet being interchangeable. There’s a hard line where super tall (mostly shy of 8ft) could be passed off as natural but far beyond normal to the legitimately unnatural. As someone who’s written a character who goes from 5ft to 10ft (don’t ask for it in this thread, it turns furry due to the girl becoming a werebeast), and did a bunch of comparisons to make it stand out, aspects like mass really start mattering here. We’re talking someone going from a hundred pounds of mass to eight hundred if we’re talking direct growth with no embellishments/filling out curves/fat/muscle and other transformative baggage. The amount of chairs and beds that start struggling to hold that becomes a fun writing point. It’s also the difference between being eye level with a girls collarbone to breast or even belly height. That stuff stands out. Not to mention a 7ft person might be able to stand in a room comfortably beside light fixtures and doorways where an 8ft+ one is officially in that forced to hunch down all the time.

I honestly do prefer the part where the girl starts getting truly huge, so I can get a little impatient. But the first signs of growth and amazon look can really hit sometimes.

One of my favourites is in Attack of the 50ft Veronica. Yeah, the dialogue is still kinda cardboard, but the difference between the two times Veronica gets into the car.
The first time, her head is just kinda pressing against the roof, the seat is kinda tight.
But then the second time, she's taking everything around her seat. The groans she makes while her head pushes so hard against the car roof, only managing to get in one leg while the other extends beyond the hood of the car, her large hand taking up the length of the windshield, the whole car groaning and buckling under her weight, all wrapped up in the tires all giving up at the same time and her head pushing in a few extra inches to tear through the roof... Oh, it's DIAMONDS !!!

Makes me wish someone had drawn the transition between the night and morning, where she wakes up exploded out of her pyjamas and on the ruins of her bed, smashing her forehead on the ceiling when she gets up, sewing up her clothes to make her swimsuit, and crawling out of her house, slowly growing as she does.
