Why does everyone seem to like this kind of flooring (LVP)? I would never put it in anywhere and would rather put in carpet, real hardwood, ceramic tile, Vinyl Composition Tile squares, or even standard linoleum.

I think it's hideous, especially in that paradoxically crisp clean brand new weathered driftwood grey look which I hope will go out of style very quickly.
Laminate is pretty OK though. A couple of the rooms that previous owners remodeled in our house have it and I completely forget it's not hardwood.

it looks damn good and its comfy to walk on, its barefoot comfy even in cold places.its also a lot more durable than equally priced click laminates. its less diy to install and needs more precision in the installation but diy hours is free and when the materials is cheaper and look better its a no brainer to just spend a few hours extra.
>hardwood
lol, tell me you never lived on such floor without telling me you never did. its a reason everyone who did cover it with anything but hardwood.

Yea the reason is people are cheap and retarded. People see a beat up hardwood floor that's 50 years old and think it's "icky". Then they either tear it out because they don't know you can refinish them or they see the cost of refinishing and think "I can slap in some cheap LVP on top of it for a 1/3 of the cost" and have to replace it in 5 years

Pros
1. Cheap and easy to install
2. The realtor doesn't care what it's made of, anything that looks like wood will sell as if it's wood
3. Easy to clean
4. Better water resistance than wood and especially carpet
Cons
1. Bland
2. Can crack and shatter from impacts

I went with glue down vinyl, anyone other tradie I talk to is shocked people keep picking plank over glue down. It's so much more durable and looks just as good. Easy to install too.

Why? Are you retarded?
> Carpet
Fucking disgusting. I'm not going to even provide reasons why this is an awful idea
> Real hardwood
Have you seen the price of hardwood?
> Ceramic tile
Not a bad alternative but I don't want tile on the entirety of a second floor.
> Vinyl Composition Tile
You're literally bitching about lvp but vinyl tile is ok?
> Linoleum
I don't live in a basement and it looks cheap as fuck.
The LVp I have is a dark brown and has a very random wood grain that can easily be mistaken for real hardwood. I paid extra for the commercial grade with a higher wear rating which means it will easily outlast the lifetime of the house and I'll never have to do stupid shit like refinish it.
If I owned a good old house with hardwood from the days before (((they))) made it all expensive, I would obviously be taking care of that but alas I own a tract home mcmansion.
