There's a Facebook group called "waste watts". In essence don't waste your time cleaning it up. Get a lister engine either used or in a disassembled state (envirofags won't allow them to sell new). Attach it to a generator coil and get it running with the necessary things needed to balance whatever your local electricity requirements are.
Now you have a home generator.

i thought it was not economical before, but with the global shortages now i think it might be worth doing as long as the final product can actually be used in an engine without corroding it

I'll be watching this thread. I do have a centrifuge I bought, Haven't had time to fuck with it, but want to setup a tank system to gravity feed it and filter the clean and sludge into different tanks below. I have a pretty good idea of what I want, just gotta find the time.

i believe you still need some sort of chemical pre-treatment on the oil before spinning it since a lot of the junk is suspended nicely in solution. hopefully someone has a good idea

Not op, but just about everyone that does this burns it as fuel in a diesel...

That will be my ultimate goal, add a few gallons per fill up to my IDI and other old mechanical injected diesels. Not so much to save fuel, more so to just use up the used oil. Also need to get some cattle oilers fixed up and mix used motor oil with some insecticide to run in them to keep my cows from getting squeaky!

If your goal is to just do whatever with it in an effort to use it up, why get it in the first place? Just sounds like you're creating unnecessary work for yourself.

I am not seeking out additonal used oil, This is my own used oil from vehicles and equipment.
