For most people a ~4.0gpm at ~4000 psi or thereabouts is all they would ever need. 6.5 hp engine powered triplex piston pump. Avoid axial pumps at all costs, they are value engineered dogshit in my experience...

get a triplex pump. get gas and a triplex pump.
you need to service your pump else it dies. I gone the 100 dollar ones got em replaced every year and i just clean my concrete slab weekly.

I went electric cause i use it weekly and don't wanna deal with gas every time and it running out and stuff, so a yearly oil change for pump.

You should always go more gpm, you can control psi

there are better made electric ones but then your limited by outlet amps pic related cost about the same as gas unit tho and you get less gpm and psi compared to gas unit

Anyone ever use one of these $50 chineseium ones you stick in a bucket? I was thinking of getting one to wash the salt and dirt off my car and van in the winter. They say they go up to 600 psi but we all know thats a lie.

I've used tons of different pressure washers.
I like electric, but their underpowered for the price. A 3000psi electric is a light duty go to for me.

If you need heavy duty go gas. But it's annoying as fuck doing maintenance. But if your cleaning like industrial grease from a restaurant go gas. Aside from that it probably doesn't fucking matter.. all pressure washers are basically the same.

It probably really comes down to gas vs electric and not much else.

I'm seriously thinking about going and getting some 3-53 Detroit powered "water blasters" for sale on craigslist... Not much into I can find on them. Metal tag states 12,000 psi. Price is nice. Look to have the correct engines that match some Michigan loaders I own. Worst part is its a several your drive and near the city. Probably wouldn't ever use them for their intended purpose, but rather as spare engine parts.

Not the one in your picture. All these electric washers are pretty much the same inside with various exterior shells depending on how much they're trying to mark it up. They're engineered to fail and they'll all break after a couple of years of use from corrosion. The best one is the one you can afford to just throw out and replace every couple of years, avoid big bulky heavy units, avoid bullshit like soap addition which never works anyways.

I like these basic bitch units from rona, $99 on sale and just chuck it out when it breaks.

Spend like $500 or so on a gas unit. If you aren't a wrenchlet you can upgrade the fittings, hose and wand etc. I bought this unit here has tons of power to blast dirt etc.
