seems like an underutilized technique for the savvy /diy/ builder
concrete is cheap and easy and you could use whatever for reinforcement steel
just form up a mold and make enough to build your fallout bunker quonset hut

>when portland cement has been a thing for 3k yrs?
>The cement was so named by Joseph Aspdin, who obtained a patent for it in 1824, because, once hardened, it resembled the fine, pale limestone known as Portland stone, quarried from the windswept cliffs of the Isle of Portland in Dorset.
Portland cement, which is an ingredient of modern concrete, is limestone and clay baked in a kiln to make clinker. It is then ground down and mixed with gypsum to form cement. When you mix in an aggregate it becomes concrete. Opus caementicium, Roman concrete, is quicklime, pozzolana, and an aggregate of pumice.
