Anyone ever make a skateboard? Do I really have to use HARD rock maple. I think that’s just marketing bullshit. there is only a 5% difference in density vs white oak
>>2992633 You're still going to need wheels, trucks (that's what those metal things are that connect the wheels to the board), and that grip tape that makes it possible to have the rough surface on top.
Maple is often used in guitar necks. You'll need something sturdy but light.
>>2992633 Make a mold of whatever board you want to clone and use sawdust and epoxy for the pour. Let it cure, then wrap with 2 layers of carbon fiber and glass resin. Test and post results.
>>2992633 A lot of board companies started in garages You can get a press at harbor freight and the wood veneers and adhesives online >>2993011 There were 70s boards like that, they would be fine for cruising around, but not safe if you were doing high impact tricks
>>2992633 I was also thinking about it since i have the wood i need and a lot of it , but the wheels and "trucks" are prohibitively expensive in my part of the world even ordering via aliexpress. Maybe if you can find someone to buy one and cover some costs , otherwise not doable for me.
