Those are overcoats, not trench coats. Trench coats are more like raincoats designed to be lightweight and waterproof. If they're made of a wool/blanket type thicker fabric, they're overcoats and made more for cold and snow, rather than rain and mud.
And yes, overcoats are superior to trench coats because they look more classy and effay and not purely utilitarian.

I think they both are effay as overcoats and trenchcoats go hand in hand with a classic wardrobe. Also both come from military/equestrian heritage which is usually the standard for menswear.
Trenchcoat is for rainy weather and keeping warm from spring to fall (especially with a liner) and overcoats are for winter when the trench doesn't cut it. You can use a topcoat instead of a trench but I think a proper topcoat is better saved for formal wear like a tuxedo or tailcoat.

Nobody is stopping you, faggot. The only reason you don't wear them is because you're a pathetic pussy who is too afraid to stand out. Which begs the question what are pussies like that even doing on a fashion board?

One morning I walked by a beautiful lady in a baby blue mid length trench coat and black stockings. Brown hair neatly put up. Aubrey Hepburn-esque like a movie star, simple and elegant. I try to find a pic doing it justice, but everyone's looking sloppy in comparison.

You can stick to wearing hoodies if you’re so conscious about it.

It's because of the trial of Oscar Wilde

Because he has the typical chudface. For him the game was rigged from the start. And as always the best way to ruin a trench coat look is by Matrix larping. It will always look like cheap a cosplay.

>light wash jeans and white t-shirt with trench coat
Why is he dressed like a millennial/zoomer woman? Why are modern men such humongous faggots? At least wear better color combination if not the type of clothes below the coat. White t-shirt and light wash blue jeans are summer colors. You don't wear that shit when it's cold or raining. Literal uncultured subhumans.

what is it's not gender as much as looks?
women can use make-up to buff their looks.
men can't or not as widely as women, right?
well, what if the goofy shit we "can't" wear is on a dude who is 9/10 in looks?
it's probably fine on him, right?
if a 2/10 fat girl is wearing a trench coat is it the same thing as a chopped chud wearing one?

It has nothing to do with makeup. Women just have more balls than men to explore new looks. Modern men on the other hand are are too much of bitch ass pussies to wear anything beyond t-shirts, shorts, sweatpants and hoodies. To these subhuman "men" even jeans are too "dressy" these days. They'll wonder if you're going to a party or a wedding if you wear jeans.

Yes, those are shit combination that not even women can get away with it. Don't be gay. Wear proper shoes with a trench coat, not sneakers. Jeans go with workwear jackets, parkas and raincoats, not a trench coat.
You don't wear a fucking hoodie under a trench coat. A trench coat already has a collar whose look (and function) will get ruined by the lump of hood fabric. If you want a hood with a trench coat style jacket then you can get a parka.
And sweaters usually go with a wool overcoat, but they're not as bad wearing a hoodie under a trench coat.

are all weather military trench coats a good choice to wear or is it too bulky and simplistic compared to more loose looking ones that are sold at stores places like macys

i just wanna look cool with the trench coat like soma cruz so when it gets foggy over here soon i can wear it like it's a cape flowing when i walk but i guess i can see some semanticalities when wearing it so it won't look too out of place and downright unflattering like a graphic tee with whitewashed jeans combo, so wearing dress up shoes with khakis or slacks would probably make it less informal to the intended approach
but how would you rock the trench coat in the same way marv does in Sin City

yeah but the parka I have (pic related) is too bulky I want something more lightweight so it won’t look like I am going to the snow in the middle of spring/summer due to the windy fog

Looks like a retard or a hobo. What kind of a moron wears a baseball cap with a trench coat? Those are for two completely opposite types of weather/seasons. Same goes for Converse/canvas sneakers. They're for summer, not rain and snow. Your clothes should look like they belong in your environment, climate and season, or else you'll end up looking like you're wearing a retarded costume.

I dunno guys, I like it. It's treating the trench coat as any other practical piece of clothing but with attention paid to layering and colour coordination.

We're on 4chan. I don't believe anything anyone says here, either, I know. You guys just don't see the vision of hobocore. I'd throw a trench coat on top of various other articles of clothing and call it a day.
I didn't see trench coats as fitting into this because I had the idea that it was a piece of classy outerwear that fits with other classy items, rather than just practical outerwear that could go with any other type of outfit.
Practicality is a look, too. A good everyday wardrobe has things you can mix and match and which generally go well together; it's not a question of singular, standalone outfits that you plan out. A trench coat can fit into this well.
But, y'know, I don't believe anything I read here, either.

Could this trenchcoat work?

bros I thrifted a vintage car coat, it was in great condition but very stiff. I fucking fucked up.
I put conditioner on it to soften the stiffness and that made it super fucking squeaky. Like intolerably squeaky. So then I used some gentle cleaner to try and remove the conditioner, which took off the top coating dye. Now the leather is blotchy. It’s not awful but it’s killing me that it looked damn near new and now I’ve fucked it.
How can I recover the dye so it looks even again? Is this a job an autist can do myself, or do I need to take it to a specialist?

I tried that, but it still has a finish on top so the dye won’t stay on.
