I actually disagree because fashion is all about how you look, so you can make due with very small budget if you put enough effort in. Compare it to something like Golf for instance where your play will be objectively worse without quality equipment.

Fashion and chasing fashion trends are not the same thing. Actually fashionable people follow their own personal style, not whatever bullshit trend brands are peddling this season. And to do that you don't need to be rich. You can take your time, save up and curate your own wardrobe that's unique to you and last you a lifetime.

old navy. they are not 100% linen however, they're blends of predominantly linen, then cotton, then polyester. but don't let that detour you, the poly blend makes it strong enough to wash regularly if you get stinky in them during the summer and they don't fall apart. the fabric still looks and feels completely natural and drapes really well, old navy also has sales all the fucking time which are actually the real cost of the clothes but it'll be like "50% off right now only!" and a shirt is like 20$ and the sale will keep gong for like a week

Linen shirts from Il Lanificio are extremely good-quality despite the bad reputation of the brand. I own two.

Show me a person that looks genuinely good in expensive clothes, something that doesn't look like a costume.
Even the ultra wealthy wear whatever in their private lives and the ones with style look their best then.
