>>18693518 I if the pants are actual pants its ok, if they are sportswear yes it's a nightmare of confusion. I'm willing to forgive the baseball hat provided it's removed when sitting at a table, the sandals are a sin. What are we even doing here? Leather sandals. My god.
When I'm on holiday in hot countries, I try to wear sandals, but without socks they rub and give me blisters, and with socks I may as well just wear normal shoes. How are you actually supposed to wear these things?
>>18693412 from the perspective of somebody completely out of sandals world, they are very feminine looking, it's mostly the red. I do think they're cute but people will definitely see them as feminine. I feel like this might be a case of getting too deep into something and not being able to see it objectively anymore, so figured I'd offer my POV
>>18697479 >I feel like this might be a case of getting too deep into something and not being able to see it objectively anymore Yeah that is something I fear a lot with fashion. It can also happen when an item is the complete opposite of feminine, for example with pnw boots or certain excesses of raw denim. How does one avoid it? How to know?
>>18696762 I think the difference is in how the pants are cuffed. Cuffed to 3/4 looks good but if its full length then i concur sandals + jeans is only to be worn on the designated shiting street
>>18696858 No, keep surrendering your kulcha to jeets and the rest of the world chuds. You nigga lovers don't deserve it anyway. You can keep LARPING as your afro gods.
>>18705792 either way it checks out >is preened and dressed up like a ken doll by his instagram girlfriend to be the ultimate performative male >is gay
Got these for travel as they don't take much space. Use them to walk the dog in summer. They dont have a lot of structure but its no issue to walk 1-2 hours in them on forrest trails. If you're based in EU and want something local its a good brand to support and alternative to companies producing in Asia. You can choose between two types of straps (pic rel shows one) and also select either a leather (good for long times on feet) or cordura (dries quickly, better for wet environments) footbed. I think the guy literally makes them in his garage: https://shop.monksandals.com/gb/17-running
>>18709562 I recommend the model with the toe strap. It takes a little time to get used to, but you can tighten it enough to prevent friction from the buckle. The toe strap keeps your foot from sliding forward on descents and helps prevent the footbed from rotating, which can make your pinky toe stick out over the edge.
I've owned minimalist sandals from Xero Shoes that used only two straps across the top of the foot, and I constantly had those problems. Sold them as soon as I could. I haven't had any of those issues with this design.
I also saw these made in the the Czech Republic but haven't tried them. They also offer a leather footbed: boskyshoes.com/en/
>>18708592 Honestly I agree, you should only use sandals for a relaxed look and the more straps and stuff you add on top the bulkier they look, it detracts from the aesthetic
>>18713126 When they’re too elaborated (see: gladiator sandals) I agree, but with fisherman sandals I don’t feel that way. They definitely work for a relaxed look, but at the same they don’t look disgusting, shallow and plebeian like Birkenstocks. Overall they’re the best type of sandals IMO, also for the discreet and subtle see-through effect they arouse.
With that being said, flip-flops are of course the best option you have for the beach and the swimming pool. Put on, take off, easy and practical. Would be nice, though, to see more people opt for decent sandals rather than flip-flops outside of those specific contexts.
>>18713126 Flip flops are straight up practical but their aesthetics are terrible for men. Imo because men have big rugged feet the sandal also has to have some bulk so it doesn't look out of place. Flip flops are actually extremely dainty and feminine visually and can only complement women's feet. The default utilitarian men's sandal is actually the humble hiking sandal imo
>>18713364 The humble hiking sandal makes you look like an aged northern European tourist who needs his wife even to trim his toenails. Have some style, wear something leather.
>>18713394 If your feet aren't ugly, then hiking sandals will look good on you. Those are definitely stylish but I barely count them as sandals since they're not really open toed
>>18713557 >If your feet aren't ugly, then hiking sandals will look good on you Maybe if your fit is very sporty you’re right. Ideally, you should be actually hiking…
