Has this been done? And no I'm not talking about diversity signaling. I'm talking about Specifically putting really ugly people in really good clothes as part of marketing.

I'm not sure if that's actually the reason, but yeah many clothing companies don't look like they're going out of their way to use conventionally attractive models. The ones that really go for "hot models" are almost always brands that sell sex more than the design
