even though im an adult with a wife and children and a business, i have applied to the janny position solely to be able to ban watch thread posters. Lets hope I get the job.
>>18714923 They aren't having tryouts right now. Get back to your family and business. Both are being neglected if too many watch threads are a big problem with you.
>>18714959 so you found: >several generals that hit the bump limit >several threads for specific watches/discussions that would get ignored in the generals shouldn't be an issue honestly, the same happens with other generals, e.g. specific fragrance questions and specific shoe questions. then you have >watch general >cheap watch general a split caused by some animals wanting to discuss cheaper watches without getting yapped at. and finally >split bake for watch general this is the only one that is really annoying
>>18715404 What reason is that? You don't want to see threads about things you aren't personally interested in? As if there's not enough room for what you want to discuss... Fuck off. Just ignore what you don't care about like a grownup.
>>18715240 >>18715404 Wristwatches definitely belong here. Hell, they're the only form of 'jewelry' its even really acceptable for men to wear. That's like banning necklaces for women.
>>18715404 Makes sense I guess. Holy shit can they go on about nothing.
>>18715447 There are no other general threads on /fa/ except for fragrances, which is equally out of place here. There is no jewelry general, no sneaker thread, the only staple of the board was WAYWT but that died off and gets shitted up by the watch autists too.
If they were stylish it might make sense, but they have zero taste, they're fashion-retarded the same way 90% of car guys will spend 60k on some custom job and then step out of the thing looking like a fat slob. Their obsession with the aesthetic of their special interest seems to have no crossover with their clothing, it's some weird lipstick on a pig situation and it attracts the most boring people on the planet.
>>18715464 >There are no other general threads on /fa/ except for fragrances And boots, and denim, and /tip/, and skincare, and thinspo which arguably belongs even less on /fa/ and should be on /fit/. It's just that the watch threads have a handful of truly terrible posters in a constant faceoff seeing who will shit up the thread first >four or five guys, three of which are clearly identified (grand seiko blogposter, citizen coffee spamer, weekdater guy) who think spamming copypasta and reposting the same stuff over and over is funny and who think clogging up a slow board by making new threads at 250 posts is epic trolling >another four guys who act as hostile as possible to the first group, initially started by a pretty identifiable poster who most likely isn't here anymore but the process of killing the conversation out of spite lives on There's probably ten to fifteen posters in the watch threads in total. And since so much of it is shit flinging and the spammers find it funny to spam threads while the anti-spammers try to make counter-threads, the entire board takes the fall. All of this could be stopped ifthe board had poster ID so retards would stop fighting ghosts.
>>18715580 For me it’s bc I think they’re /fa/ af I also love the engineering and craftsmanship component Then there’s the historical aspect I just like them If I weren’t homeless I’d probably have 1 for special occasions
>>18714971 >several generals that hit the bump limit you know on other slow boards they’ll keep posting in the old general for several days to not clog up the catalog.
>>18715464 You’ll notice a pattern with most generals. They all have the same menswear styles and products you can find at Macy’s or Nordstrom to a stereotypical tee.
>>18715240 >>18715447 Yet the watch posters never show an outfit paired with their watches. They’re all fat, hairy, balding, and old. You only show them post their wrists and a cup of coffee.
One watchfag actually had the courage to make a thread on his own asking for fashion advice. The guy looked like a balding, bearded, skinnyfat wreck with zero fashion sense.
So, where’s the fashion in those threads when they just wear their watches in their boxers?
>>18716360 They got kicked out of /g/ and then decided to spam here out of rebellion. Also a Jeet living in Switzerland spams a lot too. He also spams on /pol/.
>>18715239 A watche barely adds to an outfit, lets be real here. If anything, it usually takes away from a fit by being obnoxiously out of place most times, which is something these writstwatchfags seem to not try at avoiding
