Because people think that it has to do with all the dystopian Palantir shit and don't know that they can just train a neutral network on shitloads of indirect meta data and profile people without ever knowing their name or seeing their face. So they see it as a step towards a dystopian nightmare that they don't know already exists

Showing your ID to a clerk who is legally not allowed to record anything, and who is addressable to a manager standing 10 feet away if you suspect foul play, working for a company in your country that you can potentially sue... is the same as having your face and ID scanned and sent to a random third party on the other side of the planet?

Why are you like this? We don't refer to people with legal terms outside of the legal system, do you call yourself a major? If I show my ID to someone in a bar, a supermarket, or a strip club, they don't get to keep a copy of my ID. The problem is that there is no guarantee that my ID photo is being deleted, and there have been multiple breaches showing that, despite swearing up and down that they "don't see it" and "Delete it immediately", they are absolutely NOT deleting the data.

Cool! Let's see one that works in airplane mode!

Nah the double-posting is a 4chanX issue, the quick-reply window doesn't close properly and it tries to post the same thing again and again, if someone doesn't notice their post went through they'll end up posting it again once the identical post timer runs out.

Realistically, what is stopping you from using an ID that's not yours for anonymous/verification purposes? What's the next step after this becomes a common issue?
If it goes all the way down to biometrics you can literally pay your local hobo 50 bucks and a handle of vodka for verification information. This filter won't stop anyone determined, I'll still have five thousand alts to shitpost with or do lewd things on

>>Suicidal and extremely tired worker reviews your ID
I would be happy to instead show my ID to my local liquor store guy. He doesn't make any copies and there is a good chance that any data he retains will be "deleted" a couple months later, probably after his divorce.

Shut the fuck up, I don't even need an ID to get inside of a car. This is literally not something that is banned for minors to use.
You are a piece of human dogshit and I look forward to seeing your ugly, fat mug plastered on the news when you suck a shotgun after Poopreet steals all your life savings.

this is how you know that even Anthropic, despite being the only somewhat usable LLM outside of general internet search abstraction, is in trouble
they feel the need to add revenue by selling your data, if you decide to hold after their initial IPO pump you deserve everything you get.

>I have to show id everywhere the because the world is full of activities that are prohibited to minors or requires identification
I have not been asked to show an ID to buy an alcoholic beverage since 18. They just look at me and know I am not a child.
The only time IDs should ever be asked for is when opening a bank account or something like that.
