I think he's fucking with me.

Still not going to listen to that song.

wha?

Fixed.

yeah, politics are a big part of SWE teams. get used to it. how you play this particular one depends on a number of factors, but in 90% of cases it is best to be friendly and agree with the feedback and implement it.
>>
>large changes
there's your problem silly, small changes at a time, and a design doc + updating decision doc to back u up
>>
>>108611963
Just say "yes", then don't do any of it. If he ever asks why, say you're planning on implementing his suggestions but it's in backlog now and you have new high priority work.
>I really do appreciate your detailed input, though, and it will eventually happen.

Nope, it's called task inflation.
Now every vibe coder can crap out a unit test for every class in five minutes?
(they don't even cover 20% of the code, but it doesn't matter, it's 10000 lines of busy work)
You have to have unit tests for all your classes too.
Vibe boi can shit out a fully formatted PR that he didn't even read? (full of errors, but tech lead isn't reading it either)
You have to write one up too.

And so on. I'm already seeing this happen. AI cretins are trying to ruin software development.

There's a reason why he's the techlead and you're the codemonkey.
>>

It's the enjeetification of all development
jeets do this shit performatively because they didn't know how to code
so they just ass kiss and do all kinds of useless busywork that looks like work
all for that tech salary that is only justifiable if you know how to code
now they have AI to amplify their uselessness
it's infuriating because if you actually try to shut them down by monitoring and reviewing their bullshit
it only makes them look stronger in the eyes of management
once this process begins, just leave, there's no solution
the whole company will be a burning pile of cow manure in two years
>>
>>108611963
it's simple.
if he is a jeet, then his suggestions are retarded.
if you're a jeet, then your code is shit regardless.
if you're both jeets, then you have izzat dynamics to boot.

This is the equivalent of witepeepo not having sex and then complaining about being genocided
Do the needful and use the AI, it codes better and faster than you
You're wasting company time by not using it

I've been a developer since the late 1980s. It's incredible how much overhead bullshit and endless gatekeeping has been injected into everything the last decade or so. Despite what they want you to believe, it hasn't always been this way. Also most software developers were white (a Jap here or there) until the dotcom boom. Even though the H1B law existed before then, that's when it caught fire because the government made clear they weren't going to enforce any of the parts of the law meant to protect the domestic workforce. And here's a surprise for you: female developers were actually somewhat common in the late 1980s. They weren't pushed out in the 90s, males simply entered software development in far larger numbers, so the ratio got increasingly lopsided. They were also almost all white.
Agile is dogshit designed to move money away from software developers into an increasingly large administrative layer. It's funny that it claims to be to empower developers and reduce overhead when in almost every case, the exact opposite happens.
If you have the social skills and are willing to get your hands messy with the business side of things, consulting is the best path for the white developer now. Indians eventually fuck things up enough that they need an actual competent person to fix things but the Indians won't let such people into their departments (and they will treat you like shit if management forces you in). Consultants are seen as a superior plus they know once you unfuck things, they can claim credit, which is fine as long as the check clears.

Whenever that happens it's about code quality.
fix that code, rajesh. you will appreciate it later

Bootlicker, he probably warmed the office chair the longest among all of the keyboard clackers.
Just like you, you utterly useless obstacle of a coworker.
