What's the point of buying this shit when Intel announced they are keeping Raptor Lake production going with the 14th gen series? Even when using DDR4, the last Core i5 series should comfortably beat any Zen 3 part.

Is it a good time to buy a 5950X? I like my current 5700X but I'm gonna need more power for Blender, especially for things like baking physics simulations which can be pretty demanding.

I'm still on LGA1700 w/ a 12400 & a 3090 & 64GB 3600MHz DDR4. Maybe I could get a 12900K if I want to top things up to a two-three gen old high end rig.
