>Not sure what private trackers are all about?
A private tracker is an invite-only torrent website. Each member shares common goals: collecting, preserving and discussing media.

>READ THE OP BEFORE MAKING A FUCKING QUESTION YOU RETARDED FAGGOT
>It doesn't matter if you use the same username in different trackers, the staff still share your IP with each other.
>Staff is reading, being /marked/ is not a meme, and even if it is, it isn't.
>Don't ask for invites, it's private for a reason.
>If starting out you should interview for RED, rank to Torrent Master, wait on account age, and get invites from there. THAT'S IT THAT IS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO

Thankfully we it isn't 2006 and people who care about archiving CD rips aren't just relying on the honor system in every case. Also as was said in the other thread:

When I first got into trackers I only had people inviting me and I didn't understand the concept of recruitment. So I ended up with aged accounts that met all the requirements without trying to do it for recruitment reasons.

Fellow Pervs
It is our pleasure to announce that our new domain is now ready: emparadise.rs
That is emparadise.rs, without www in front.
(You have to copy this URL manually, as just clicking it will forward you to .sx if you currently are on .sx. https://emparadise.rs/ )
We intend to make Emparadise our main domain and use empornium.sx as our fallback domain. However, you are free to use whatever domain you prefer.
This is not a rebrand of Empornium. We are still Empornium. However, due to how the internet is evolving, anything with "porn" in the name can cause issues nowadays. This is why we chose this safe although lame route. Keeping the smut strictly behind the login.

Could an expert tell me which option is correct for the "Peer Connection Protocol" setting? I finally got FTTH and noticed that download speeds for popular torrents are significantly more stable when I disable μTP and use only TCP. Can I leave it like this or am I going to miss out on a lot of peers on private trackers?
>>
>>108641709
I doubt you'll miss out on too many. I allow both and have prefer TCP toggled, you could always test it yourself switching back and forth every couple weeks until you're sure. I think most people have both or TCP only, not a ton of μTP only. I'm not an 'expert' though
>>
>>108641709
There's a very niche reason some people claim TCP only is better than both, but I've never really seen any actual explanation for it
But I still have it set to that because at worst it's the same as having both, and at best there may be a very slight improvement if they're right, so might as well
>>
>>
>>108642003
Deluge doesn't have a reputation for being slow. There's a reason why it's used in racing setups. It just shits itself if you load it up with too many torrents. You can see some of the racers on RED do the initial racing with Deluge then shift the torrent over to qbittorrent after some time has passed.

Whenever someone on 4chan is asking about doing something retarded what they are really looking for is permission to do so. They want other retards to validate their position. If you explain in depth why what they are doing is completely retarded and how there are better ways you just reverse psych them into wanting to do it more. Such is the nature of the type of contrarian dickhead who comes to this site. It's better just to give them the permission they want and stamp an asterisk on it. Getting into a drawn out argument about these things isn't always worth it.
>>
>>108642744
The longer you try to avoid starting the wait the longer it becomes. Getting a legit invite by meeting people online or becoming a top uploader at lesser trackers is possible but not guaranteed. Just get started with RED already.

>>108642771
I am already doing this for a couple of months but the wait is killing me. I try and meet people in person but nobody even knows about this shit, even people who like lesser known cinema. PTP is already crazy with 2 years but even people I know that are on the site cant invite me because it requires Elite account (50 uploads) to even send one? Absolute bullshit
>>
>>108642798
You could help them grind out the 50 uploads. It's not really hard to get them. There are even forum threads where people point out things from sources like YouTube that can be uploaded that they are too lazy to bother with themselves. But just waiting it out is the safest and best bet.
>>
>>
>>108642809
Shame. I dont really want to try and hijack their account and they dont really want to do that shit. Ill try and just go more to film meetings (theyre fun not just going there to be annoying) and see if an oldfag will pity me. If not Ill get my uploads done and cruise until next year. It sucks but its not too bad when TL has most things. Definitely the safest but 'I hate the uncertainty that they might stop recruiting and lock the site or make the requirements even harder that hurts me.

There's still ways usenet can be useful if you have all the cabal trackers. I usually use it to get porn. But if I start downloading something from PTP/HDB and it's just too fucking slow I check if it's archived on usenet. I also got some scene released things that were simply missing. A few times I compiled season packs for BTN that way.

clearjav has less content, but they enforce proper naming conventions and their files often have a higher bitrate than the same rip on exoticaz. (They shill a really good paid dmm downloader in the wiki)
Exoticaz just reposts everything from supjav and their 1080p bitrate is usually lower, because supjav rips from streaming (It's fine if you ask me)
If you care about new releases then use exoticaz. Clearjav doesn't get them nearly as fast, if at all. If you like scat maybe check out clearjav. There is this one crazy dude spamming scat blueray remuxes there

It's definitely past noon for piracy. I don't think it's anywhere close to dead but it no longer has the same vibe as the 2000s and early 2010s. Part of it is that companies wised up and part of it is piracy was really a product of those times and the new generation is too retarded or too uninterested to carry on the torch.

>>
>>108649388
I lived through all that. I experienced it at every level. From being a lowly leecher getting things to XDCC bots to being on topsites to running ratiomaster on torrentleech. I think it's dumb to act like things are worse or getting worse or "dying" because our current situation is objectively better than the old one. Connections are faster, hard drives are larger, quality is better, and there is more variety than ever. Just because everyone doesn't have a need to get involved with our hobby the way they did 20 years ago doesn't mean it's in a worse place. If anything that makes all of this more sustainable.
>>
>>108649582

There's more resources and somehow there's less people sharing. Nobody goes out of their way to rent some dedicated server and set up an XDCC bot, existing ones are dying with no replacement. Seeds on public trackers are a joke.
>>
>>108650018
It's not like it wasn't always that way though. If you were there you would know the true nature of those XDCC bots. They were run on hacked university machines with 24 hour uptime. Later in the 2000s when I was using both torrent and XDCC they had resorted to using hacked Japanese home connections because they had 100+ mbit fiber. That sharing is caring shit has always been a lie at the lower end. There are only so many resources to go around.

if you want to climb, gotta get into a tracker with invite forums. the RED interview is typically the starting point people recommend because you can get in basically everywhere.
it's best to go into the climb with a goal though. PTP isn't worth it for me since i just grab remuxes that are available on even the low tier trackers like TL, so once i had AB/EMP/GGn it was a good stopping point.

I'm moving house and the 5G where I'm moving to is more than twice as fast as my home broadband connection where I am now. Is it a good idea to get a seedbox instead of getting home broadband over there? If I don't get home broadband or a seedbox, would I be connectable if I seed on 5G with a VPN?

high upload usage is what providers care about but would still check the fine print for data caps/usage/fees before committing to 5g.
personally i would take a hard line with lower speeds over wireless in nearly every situation unless it was actual 6mbit download speeds and tons of jitter on the line.

red is only for spamming uploads to get into the trackers you want in, you don't download music you like and then other people also do that and you have a normal ratio, everyone is just there to spam trash and farm upload, not to enjoy a music collection

9.1 is the latest it seems. Also matches what's already been ripped so far
They're in the weekly batches for Shonen Jump if you don't have Madokami https://nyaa.si/?f=0&c=3_1&q=weekly+viz+shonenjump+mangaplus
>>
>>
>>108655775
NTA but is Madokami worth getting into? I mostly download from torrents as they're usually faster and don't rely on a single point of failure. Does it have anything you can't find on private/public trackers or MangaDex?
>>
>>
>>108656303
Nowadays it's mostly the same stuff as on Nyaa/AB, just more practical for individual chapters that are released in separate batches like >>108655775, since they're all in one place instead of going after them across possibly dozens of batches
I've heard they also still have new compilations for scanlations that aren't necessarily uploaded elsewhere, but I haven't really seen any example myself. Otherwise anything that isn't official rips and that was released in the last couple years likely won't be there, they stopped aggregating fan translations around 2020-2021 I think
I've found it most useful for niche older stuff like light novels from 10-15 years ago for which the translations a specific team made back then are hard to come across nowadays, or things like bonus/side stories that no one has bothered uploading to torrent trackers (I've found extra content I didn't even know existed like this before for some of the LNs I was reading). It's also good if you're not on AB since it mirrors everything from there too, which isn't much but still
>>
>>
>>108656462
Literally the very first result if you Google it https://wotaku.wiki/guides/manga/madokami
It can take anywhere between 5 minutes and several weeks of attempts depending on your luck, but still much easier and faster than a lot of private trackers

>fansub is kill, the only people left get nothing out of it and (virtually) no one cares
fansubs have nothing to do with piracy, if a fansub group wanted they could just make srt files and leave it up to people to get their own copy of the media.
nobody fansubs anymore because the speed and convenience of ripping CR/NF/AMZN subs vs the shitty fans complaining that the episode isn't fully subbed 3 hours after the episodes air...
it's not worth the time investment to people who do good sub work anymore, basically only mtbb is left and they dragged their dick super hard on the second half of the new monogatari series thing to the point the bluray was close to coming out before they decided to just wait for that to finish.
don't get me wrong, i'd gladly wait a full day or even til end of season to get solid fansubs on airing shows over the interpretation/localization that we have been getting for the last decade now when horriblesubs stopped fansubbing and became a CR rip group, but nobody who can do subs has the will to do it for free anymore.
>>
>>108656303
It doesn't get updated like it used to and it pretty much only has official scans. It's still a good archive because it has everything that was on mangatraders up until 2014'ish or whenever mantatraders died.
Some interesting history. Mangatraders was actually going to come back because a guy on /a/ donated 1-2 bitcoin to the site. Keep in mind this is tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of USD now. Anyway after that some of the horriblesubs guys hacked the site and killed it for good. One of those guys is still active today his name is snowfag. I think the other guy died of a meth / crack overdose and being extremely obese but i forgot.
/a/ was a lot of fun back in the day. It's not anymore but it used to be incredible.

can't stand what it is today, somehow even more pedos, even more talk about moeshit and too many random trash series to keep up with to even try trolling threads now.
i just enjoy my seasonal cgislop on my own now

That fat guy was matt. snowfag might still be a nyaa operator unless something changed

it's always easier to break than create, this is a universal law.
it's not sustainable or worth it to dedicate so much time and money to something that ultimately isn't costing them as much as it requires to patch.
game piracy in russia isn't impacting video game sales because they were never going to buy the game anyway, there's no point in developing a denuvo2.0 just because a game was "stolen" a million times by 3rd worlders, but when denuvo 2.0 gets created, there's always going to be some autistic cat ears headphones wearing non-binary in programming socks putting 18 hours a day into obsessively trying to break it.

normies LOVED that One Piece live action shit.
i don't get it, but then again i'm a one piss hater and can't stand the fanbase, but i know so many people irl who don't watch anime that all said they really enjoyed the show.

no Aither is on the same comfy level as GGn, it's still a pretty young tracker/community but if you want a tracker to use while you're climbing to ptp/kg/hdb or wherever, ath is a good place to chill.

Thanks, man. Maybe I'll consider getting into it. Seems like newer stuff is generally easier to find nowadays, but an archive of old stuff is pretty valuable. I enjoy BBT exactly because it has a lot of old stuff.

Man, I wish I was into anime at the time of /a/'s peak. Must have been a lot of fun. I thought HorribleSubs only had a beef with Crunchyroll, did they also have beef with mangatraders?

I am actually collecting music. So squatting on all these torrents with my seedbox means when there's freeleech my buffer is gonna explode. Until then I still gain more than the average person does without effort simply because I have such a massive seed size.

People always recommend them but I find them incredibly suspect. They're closed source and have never done any audits of any kind. They also had one of their servers compromised years ago (like 8+) and didn't say anything about it until not too long ago.

LIBTORRENT 2.1.0 RC1 IS OUT
I REPEAT, 2.1.0 IS FINALLY COMING OUT SOON!
THIS AFFECTS MOST CLIENTS!
>>
>>
>>108658789
I always wait until it's approved on all trackers. If the changelog is too boring sometimes I don't bother with it. Usually TVV is the last one I'm on that approves it. Once they say it's okay I go ahead.
>>
>>108658789
>should I switch when 5.2.0 drops?
No. Stay on LT1.2 qBit until libtorrent 2.1.x becomes recommended by users as being stable. 2.1.0 might not be stable. Remember how 2.0 was locking up people's systems?
>>
>>108658799
>I always wait until it's approved on all trackers.
Bad advice. You should always be using the last stable version of qBittorrent such as 5.1.4 with libtorrent 1.2 (not 5.0, 5.1 or 5.2 which are major releases that need to fix issues)
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>108658831
No, it's not. Waiting until a new version of qbittorrent is approved before using it is not bad advice at all. It's also your choice if you're going to use 1.2 or 2.1.x regardless of the qbittorrent version you use.
>>108658835
Do you think the latest stable version of qbittorrent is instantly whitelisted by trackers upon release you stupid babbling fucking neon?
>>
>>108658828
>I trust some anon will keep us posted on how LT2.1 builds of qBit are running, perhaps by the 5.3.x branch
He is saying that you will probably upgrade to the 5.2.x release before 5.3.0, or the 5.3.x release before 5.4
>>
>>
>>
>>108658844
>No, it's not.
Yes, it is. You are literally saying I am suggesting the opposite of my advice.
>>108658844
>Do you think the latest stable version of qbittorrent is instantly whitelisted by trackers upon release you stupid babbling fucking neon?
Holy shit dude pay attention. I am saying you should avoid the latest version,.
>>
>>108658864
I said you should avoid it until it's whitelisted. Once it's whitelisted you can do what you want. I run the builds from here:

>there's nothing wrong with it.
Nobody told you there's anything wrong with it. Literally nobody. I am just telling you to avoid 5.2.0 until it is stable aka the version when 5.3.0 comes out. That is literally the most foolproof way to keep your client upgraded.
>>
>>108658889
Actually I was clarifying my position after he misrepresented it. I was trying to emphasize that everything moves around tracker whitelists. Historically when people update their clients as soon as new version comes out they get fucked by that. The whitelist comes before anything else.
>>
>>108658905
>I was trying to emphasize that everything moves around tracker whitelists.
WE ALL KNOW THAT ANON.
THE ORIGINAL AND ONLY ISSUE IS THE ACTUAL STABILITY OF THE CLIENT
WHITELISTING IS NOT THE ISSUE
YOU ARE JUST REPEATING THE WHITELIST THING LIKE A PARROT WHEN IT HAS NO RELEVANCE HERE.
HOLY FUCK
>>
>>108658915
>should I switch when 5.2.0 drops?
Implying that >>108658789 is considering switching immediately after it is released, hence my response warning against the classic neon mistake.
>>
>>108658918
I thought everyone could infer that I meant switching from the LT1.2 builds I've been running for years to the LT 2.1 build when I update(after it's whitelisted), not that I was going to update my client the second it's available. Especially for bigger releases I know we'll probably be waiting a month for AB, GGn or BIB to get around to whitelisting it
>>
>>108658942
Well I felt like it was important to get the obvious out of the way before we get into high level autism. I suspect I'll still be running LT1.2 with the new versions of qbittorrent but we will see how it goes.
>>
>>108658918
I am the anon who replied to that and my advice was:
1) Don't upgrade to 5.2.0, wait for the 5.2.x version when 5.3 drops.
2) Stay on lt1.2 builds until 2.1.x is considered stable by users.
It was that simple. Just about the stabilout of the client. Nothing to do with whitelisting, especially considering I am telling you to wait for 5.3 to get the last 5.2.x which would be long whitelisted by then.
