On my arch install I run a script that executes "yay --noconfirm" and shuts down my PC afterwards every day before I go to bed. I have yet to have any problems with this method and I've been doing it for a year or two now. I recommend this to everyone who spends several minutes every day babying their installs and answering a machine's yes or no questions like a slave.

same, but without a script (atm)

I'm not mentally retarded so I can fix my system should anything break, and even if it takes me an hour or two it would still be a net positive on how much time it saves me. And that's assuming it does break, which it hasn't so far.
