Reminder that Wayland "minimalized" itself into uselessness. There is literally no reason to use it over just raw binding to DRI/KMS and "rolling your own" display system. Because Wayland doesn't even define a server. It just defines a useless collection of abstractions over a graphics API and pretends like it's a replacement for X11. You have to roll your own display system anyways, choosing to design it around Wayland is just babyducking.

People seem to forget Gnome was started as a project by a former Microsoft employee to sabotage and slow roll fixes for Linux.

System76 wanted to normalize and make more commonplace laptops and computer hardware by offering first class citizen Linux computers, and when they wanted to improve gnome, Ebussy turned them away and had to create their own DE.

Everyone should be boycotting Gnome. It's not a coincidence that they refuse to fix obvious bugs.
