upgrade for the k400, which is used primarily for HTPCs but I use it for my server since I can just chuck it in a drawer until I need it

Nice, but I see no reason to upgrade from my K400 after 8 years. I also haven't needed to replace the batteries in several years and I use it daily. The only 'issue' is the cheap feel of it.

Nta, however I have a bash script menu that allows me to simply click a number to go to whatever I program that number to go to instead of using a mouse and clicking around like a literal fucking nigger.

only legitimate complaint

use case?

who cares? it's just Super anyway
>meaningless number indicators
it shows what device it's connected to
>some sync key suggesting it's a shit bluetooth device
it can connect via usb, bluetooth, or a usb dongle

>upgrade for the k400
you mean downgrade. it's like nobody at Framework even used the K400 line and just told some LLM to copy it just shittily. that left mouse button is the difference between the K400 and all of its copies, and the thing that makes it comfortable to use as a TV keyboard on your lap.

Trackpads are garbage
The yellow click button on the left is great but the trackpad doesn't have a mousewheel, so it completely ruins hand position

Of course they don't. Take your meds. And the K400 trackpad is meant to be used with your thumb when it is on your lap which is why buttons are placed where they're at and why the trackpad doesn't go all the way to the corner. Try clicking the corner of the Shamwork trackpad and the whole keyboard will rock around
>>
>>108655996
This looks straight ass. Why use a trackpad when a trackpoint can make do?
There's only like 3 manufacturers that make keyboards with a trackpoint--Lenovo, Tex, and Unicomp. The inexpensive ones used in server racks are complete ass, Tex models are too expensive, and Unicomp went full retard by not adding a middle scroll button. The only solution is to wire your own, unfortunately.
>>

>no dedicated media controls
>not even dedicated function keys
I am typing this from my Framework 13 which I like, but what the fuck is this garbage? What is the point? It's literally just the Framework 13 keyboard in an external chassis.
>>
>>108656278
>you tap the left or right
Absolute retard monkey behavior started by apple. Dedicated buttons are superior.
>use case?
It's a portable keyboard you can use while holding standing up. Control the mouse pointer with your right thumb and click with the left.

There's picrel but it's long out of production.
Also some chink mechanical keyboard manufacturer had one with trackpoint but mouse keys position was full retard.

Shit, I've actually been wanting a nice keyboard for use with the PC attached to my TV
Wonder if Framework and other companies are going to try pushing (linux) HTPC again, open alternative to all those proprietary streamer boxes and such.

What the fuck. They literally just took the keyboard from the Framework 13, took the trackpad and turned it 90 degrees, and put them into a chassis. No physical mouse keys, no separate media keys, nothing. The K400 shits all over this.

If they made this a backlit keyboard, it would be a worthy successor to the k830.
I don't know why Logitech hasn't released a updated version or continued the production of this model, it's now like $100 to get one of these keyboards used.
It would be probably better than a Logi anyway since it wouldn't require their Unifying software in order to work.
Non-BT wireless is an evil choice if your devices support BT peripherals natively.
The only justification for wireless stuff without BT is if your device is so old it can't install and run drivers for a USB dongle or something, otherwise there's no excuse in this day and age for that bullshit.

It's for home theaters, per their advertisement.
Supposedly, you can make it an "all in one" a la the Rasp Pi 400, but I might be misreading that and their images don't give the impression you can stick a Rasp Pi (or one of their motherboards) into it.
It's got a USECASE?.meme of couch-typing or needing a bluetooth, USB, wi-fi connecting-to-4-PC's set-up (I know a workshop that uses shitty logitech keyboards that need dongles, being able to just connect with bluetooth and switch would make their 3-4 Logitech's eWaste over 1 keyboard that can do 4 connections).
>>108656047
Writing numbers? 7,000,001,532 is easier on numberpad than reaching above qwerty, IME.

The Steam Deck's one-thumb rolling clockwise/counter to scroll up/down on their trackpad(s) is nice. I don't know why they haven't given that to the Linux kernel to have touchpads gain it.
I guess due to most trackpads being huger than the two the Deck has.

so many cucked keyboards itt... picrel should be the bare minimum
>normal size touchpad with mouse buttons (not the nipple bullshit)
>normal size up/down keys
>menu button that acts like right click on the currently active control, not necessarily where the mouse is
I don't care it doesn't have a numpad because I use it as a remote control from my bed, my primary keyboard has a numpad of course.

That's a pretty interesting layout. ISO Enter key + normal US left shift. Arrow key are full height but thinner so the right shift is a bit more usable. Extra bottom on top right of the arrow keys for symmetry. ? / got kinda cucked though.

i have through my live bough 3 of these and the last one was a month ago and i was debating of buying a cheaper Chinese one ( i know these are Chinese but they do have a slight brand markup of 2-3 euro ). SO far everything Framework has had 40-50 euro markup on cheap shit and up ot 500 euro markup on mid range. I do not know who the market for Framework is: if you want to pay brand tax just get the rii

>>108655996
At least it has fn lock, but defaulting to those retarded key combinations that aren't even scancodes like K400+ is extremely annoying. Insert on same key as delete on the other hand, no thanks. And is there even a proper ISO variant, or will it be like those fucked up König piece of shit keyboards that end up lacking vital keys and having other in bizarre places?

>Can't get replacement dongle for gay microsoft keyboard. Shits on Logitech because their users can get replacement unifying dongles for about $10 and can keep using up to 5 more devices with that same fucking replacement dongle. Keeps on typing. Clicky-clack motherfucker!

All sites I checked only show the EN layout on photos, but when I bought mine, the correct layout was in the data sheet, and sure enough, it's the layout I wanted. Best I can suggest is to ask the stores about it.
>>
>>108664629
they started being made/marketed for use with htpcs when those were big
I use one for my server since I can stick it in a drawer when I (seldom) need to access it physically and don't have to keep a spare keyboard/mouse around
