>trains are the cleanest, most advanced, efficient land vehicle
>Americans still using 1950s diesel engines that max out around 80mph if you're lucky
What is going on? Europe shouldn't be mogging us. Japan has had maglev trains for 30 years.

That's cope.
There is nothing stopping America from having rail lines, we had them in the 1800's. It's just Americans (like always) are fucking stupid and don't know better and cut their nose to spite their face.

You're just too poor to afford the good white people trains.
You are poor.

>What is going on?
The existing train systems are unable to sustain the cost of maintenance without massive cash injections from the government because of extremely low ridership. Low density housing means trains almost never take you close to where you need to go. The easiest and most convenient way for most people to get where they are going is to just drive straight there. With the US as deeply entrenched in suburban sprawl as it is, this is an effectively unsolvable problem unless you start seizing massive swaths of NIMBY property with eminent domain.

Gee, I wonder what can help with making density to be spreaded better. Maybe some sort of convenient transport lines with a regular stops that allow people to travel without overhead/cost of an airplane and faster than a car?
>>
Trains are for high density areas
The US is low-density

The US has weird density distribution because of how biased roads were towards already thriving areas, which further stifled growth in the midwest and other barren areas.
Tearing down all the roads in favor of a uniform grid of trains would even out the distribution in less than a decade.

Europe, well, just about the entire world, understands the importance of having railroad passenger transport and has developed and maintained it for centuries. You can travel from Singapore to London through China, then Russia, then the rest of Europe. There's also an even split between public and private funding which keeps things in check. Private sector has to compete with "free" and the public sector can't get so shit it gets overtaken by the private sector. Same goes for "free" healthcare btw.
America is a relatively fresh country, and due to it's unique nature, with time, all railroads ceased to serve the people and only the corporate interest, as all the currently existing railways in the US are owned by private companies and operated for freight. The government doesn't have a tax funded alternative to even things out, and instead gave the private sector a monopoly, and the private sector can't give two shits about serving the people, so instead the US railways are "self-serving".

Can you blame them? Their government had to dumb them down so that the 13% wouldn't riot when their keedz couldn't pass the most basic school tests. They can't teach cursive in the US because of the 13% while in Europe it's still the way everyone learns handwriting from the earliest of ages.

It's easy to get a gun or knife here. Now think about the amount of niggers, psychos, homeless, people who fantasize about being in a situation that makes them feel strong or heroic there are out there. You can drive off when someone pulls a gun at your windshield, cant do that in a train. Sucks but what can you do about it.

I can tell you are brown and foreign just from this response. Anti-intellectualism is a universally American trait except for Asian migrants. t. spent half of my life living near white trash.
>>
>>108675485
You've removed it from public education with the No Child Left Behind Act which Bush introduced exactly because the 13% kept failing basic tests and everything about your country revolves around the 13% and appeasing them.

Usually "I accept your concession" is a pseud response, but in this case you have more or less admitted that my accusation of you is correct and that your opinion on this matter is objectively meaningless. I appreciate the honesty.

You can't even refute the claim Americans cannot write cursive because the government made it so that they're dumbed down with the exact act I've named, and can only refute to calling anyone who disagrees with you brown.
You're also immensely defensive of the 13% being your problem where everything in your country is dictated to appeasing them, but I'm sure you'll be first to laugh at Germany or France from having the exact same problem. Rules for me, not for thee. And I say if you're gonna run your mouth about shit you don't know fuck about, then so will I.
Suffer. And if (You) don't like it, tell your government to cut the sea cables.

>Just add premium cars that poors can't afford
Does not work.. in your premium car you're still on the same train.. Even if you're on a separate train, you're on the same track. And thus you move at the same rate as the poor people.
That's why planes work, you can pay for a private luxury plane, and skip waiting for the rest. Than pay for a faster plane to fly higher and faster than economy class.

>while in Europe it's still the way everyone learns handwriting from the earliest of ages.
in Denmark, handwritten notes amd classwork on paper has been phased out of primary schools. all work is done on computers, all exams are administered digitally. every kid has a Thinkpad.

If anything, this makes US more suitable for maglev trains. Having big cities relatively distant to each other means fewer stations between them, which in turn means the train can develop and maintain higher speeds which is the whole point of maglev.

Maglev trains are not even the best transport (currently has a lot of downsides, needs developement). The public transport in these regions is good because of normal rail, not because of maglev.
Collectivist nations invest in government controlled transport. Individualist nations invest in personal transport, controlled by the individual.
