Tell me, how much suck is a laptop that runs a Windows 11 Pro VM with a Fedora host using Qemu, if I wish to use Office and Copilot for work? I already do this with a ThinkCenter, and it works fine actually, but I need something portable. I am unironically wondering if getting a chromebook with 16gb ram that comes with free gemini pro for a year would be a good alternative. I can access copilot and onedrive files on the web, and can just use guest mode for personal use as that wouldnt attach the data to a google account. The only thong is I would be missing the Office apps and office online has shit formatting issues with Word.
Am I stoopid to consider a chromebook and should I go the other extreme and just try my luck PCI passthrough + Looking Glass with a Legion laptop or something for the VM??

I would recommend NOT buying Acer's Nitro series, even though they have good specs on paper they're bundled with so much useless software that it is troublesome to get them to run properly.
It ships with the Killer Network Service which is the network adapter plus some software, it's impossible to uninstall it and it consumes a decent amount of CPU, memory and disk space, more than a regular wireless adapter, I had to disable write access for it with the antivirus because I have no idea what it does (the name doesn't inspire trust lol).
The fans make a lot of noise, the login screen sometimes doesn't work, the battery life is bad, it'll lose battery despite the screen being closed. The laptop is also extremely ugly, with cheap materials.
I've been eyeing the NEC VersaPro if I ever need to replace it.
