What? Everyone who bought a suburban shit shack back then goes on 8 cruises a year now, and they still make toast with the same Kenmore toaster, and beat their wife with the same high quality belt.
Our generation will never have houses, wives or a decent belt to beat them with. Also, the toaster has a wifi connected camera.

Not what it was like. Grocery store clerks were either kids living with their parents, women with provider husbands working part time for extra cash, older people, or renters.
If you were in your 20s working full time at the piggly wiggly, you weren't buying a house unless you had a wealthy parent/etc willing to fund your down payment and cosign your mortgage.
