for the average retard, just get whatever powered edifier set seems the right price for you online.
if you care about getting the most for your money, seek out used speakers. Polk, KEF and Klipsch bookshelfs are all great value on the used market, but you will need an amp within their power specifications to drive them best.

moved my CRT and Superstation to its own space, to the left behind my desk. Had to use a different camera app for the CRT pic for the refresh rate, hence why it's shittier quality.

The desk being so far away from the wall wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't also at the foot of the bed. I could see myself accidentally kicking the desk or shit on it if it was that close relatively easily (but I'm also kinda tall so take that for what it's worth).
