Lol they’re just using the AI excuse to mask a recession so the wagies keep consuming
>>
been watching from the sidelines for a while.
Is coding AI at the level it can maintain the stuff it builds?

If yes? it is indeed over.
If no? Wait a few years and they will panic hire you once the AI can't make head or tails of the cumulative spaghetti it has made.

>the stuff it builds
You mean the GitHub code it pirates?

we're a few token price-hikes from humans being cheaper anyway

>the scariest part isn’t the layoffs happening now
>its who’s next

Did they fire their writers to use AI instead?

>Microsoft's CEO said 30% of the company's code is now written by AI
Is this why Windows 11 is so bad?

that and the remaining 70 being jeet made

>Is coding AI at the level it can maintain the stuff it builds?
we've had this discussion many years ago with autsourcing to Actually Indians
the answer is that it doesn't matter if it's good or not in the long term
short term it's cheaper and faster
they'll fire all junior devs, keep a few seniors, and those senior are going to work overtime to fix any mess, which will mask the problem for years

How many times do we need to say it? AI is the scapegoat and they hire the exact amount of jeets back after the 'cuts'
>>
>>108679237
mexicans who cant speak english take low paying jobs and the pajeets take the high paying ones

u get fucked, AI doesnt even matter yet

Tariffs, trade wars, an extreme lack market of competition due to government favoritism, and general bad governance are destroying the US job market.
After that it's outsourcing and beyond that it's the SWE hiring bubble popping now that the free money from COVID has dried up.
AI is the scapegoat for all of it because it's a buzzword you can bring up at your earnings call to convince knuckle dragging "investors" that your mass layoffs are actually a good thing.

>Most companies don't label cuts as Al-driven
bullshit, it's the opposite
they're blaming ai for everything

And still no use case for AI.
>>
it’s really not there yet. notice the majority of those job losses come from the handful of companies that looted the treasury during covid and had the runway to deliberately overhire during the boom. now they’re firing the low performers who never really belonged.
i think a real big wave of AI-caused job losses in SWE will only materialize once/if it can actually build an entire software stack front to back - including UI, API, ops/deploy, security. right now it can only really do backend stuff.

there's literally gas shortages in my city now, how long can they keep the illusion going?

I think Windows will improve from AI code rather than scammer code

Why do you hate them for being inoffensive?
>>
>>108679293
Partially true. The other part is they are replacing American workers with poo
>fire 30,000 Americans
>Blame AI in the paper
>put in 30,000 H1B applications the same day
Everything is a ruse.

They are weird and annoying

Oracle fired jeets too and did not hire any new ones. They are trimming the fat and AI productivity gains is able to handle any excess at cut
