No, it's not nearly the same. There have been several studies looking at in group bias for different groups in America.
Most groups have a significant in group bias, white conservatives have a similar but lower in group bias to most groups and white liberals have a negative in group bias, they discriminate against other whites.

So why do third worlders come to first world countries and bring their retarded tribal politics about whose cow dung they eat over here?
Minnesota is having the same problem with somalis. A race of cavemen who never discovered the wheel flown through the sky in metal tubes made through 550 years of human ingenuity and scientific advancement, all so they can bitch at each other about whose mud hut got the wrong kind of shit-smear 2400 years ago. Not that any of them would know the details, they didn't have writing systems or history books to record any of it until they were given this tech.

It's all made up bullshit. usually based on religious divides that make zero sense in the present day, but strict adherence has created real class and genetic differences that plague the whole country and now the whole world with everyone trying to import the country to their countries.
There was a reason nobody else tried exporting everything to India until the rest of the third world began getting richer: The country is just fundamentally broken. Economically, ethnically, morally, politically, they are the bottom of the barrel for third world labor and having even one outside of their caste assigned to their department can spell doom for the whole company.

>How is it like? Is it remotely the hellscape that we're told here on 4chan?
>I always figured india is a nice place if you just avoid a few very specific (but very large) areas.
Reality has more nuance than rhetoric portrays.India now is sorta like China in the 90s, lot of issues but also lot of development in certain sectors.
Most places on earth if you got enough money you can live an affluent life. India isnt any different, there are certain local benefits you cannot get elsewhere like 10 minute groceries delivery with discounted prices, gated communities with enough amenities that you would never need to go out for any necessities. However there are also disadvantages like High AQI, scarcity due to high population etc
If you can get over the downsides and have enough money, you could live a pretty high end life in India. However same is the case for other southeast asian who might have much more benefits and different sets of downsides
