Guys, give me some of your wisdom.
I'm thinking of replacing my S20FE with either a S26 Ultra or a Nubia Red Magic 11 Pro, I don't care about cameras, and I want to emulate Switch/Wii U/Vita/etc on the fly without destroying my battery (obviously I don't expect some extreme duration, but the more the better), and 1080p resolution is more than enough for me (actually, I use 800p for my S20FE and I don't see a single problem with it).
I don't like updating my phone since I have 0 trust on Android updates or UI updates.
On my country I saw that with a good sale the S26 Ultra 512GB goes between $928.06 to $1,005.39, and the Red Magic 11 never goes below $1,198.74 on the 512GB model.
I saw that the S26 Ultra has a really agressive thermal throttling when playing for around 1 hour or more, thus I'm starting to wonder if the Red Magic 11 is the better choice for what I want.
What do you guys think ? Is the extra price worth it or the thermal throttle is just not that big or don't justify the price increase ? (I don't plan on emulating on 1 trillion fps, 30/60 fps is more than enough)

Personally I would prefer the Samsung out of those two phones, but you should look into which phone is better for your use case.
>I don't like updating my phone since I have 0 trust on Android updates or UI updates.
You absolutely should install updates, because that's how vulnerabilities get fixed. Without updates, your phone is more likely to be infected with malware.

My family told me that going Apple was the fucking bee's knees, best customer service ever
I pay £90 for a singular air-pod replacement, doesn't arrive, does the warehouse shuffle according to UPS and is returned to Sender.
Call up Apple and say, hey the package never arrived apparently you have it, can I get a refund or can we organise another deliever/repair
And all I get are fucking turd world FLIPS and JEETS saying
>SIRRRRRR I CANNOT REFUND YOU SIRRRRR
>THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO DO THAT SIRRRRRRR
Never been so angry to file a chargeback during the phone call
If this wasn't a month and a half long odyssey I wouldn't care for it much, but for this long for this level of incompetence, I would expect Xiaomi to have better support.
How do Cali niggers actually deal with this shit? How do upper middle class FOIDS deal with this? I've never had a customer experience that's left me so unbelievably angry.

Unlike Xiaomi, you can visit 1 of many apple stores located around the world instead of relying on the mail too. Getting lost in the mail is not apples fault lol. Love reading the fake apple hate rage bait fantasy stories. Last I checked no iPhone 17 pro max has a famous green line issue which has been going on for YEARS.
>>
>>108991436
Nigger, the issue is Apple has received the goods that were not even sent out for delivery by UPS. The insult to injury is Apple then refusing to refund me despite them being in possession of the property I paid for with it being their error on the shipping label (according to UPS).
I legitimately want to chimp out I am that angry over it.
Why can things never be easy?

I just feel like I'm going to go to the physical store, get told that I'm shit out of luck and would have to come back on Monday anyway.

Call the store before going and tell them you need the airpods it's a part of your daily carry and maybe after you tell them the phone experience you might get lucky. At least you know calling the physical store you get a fellow UK resident on the line. Good luck with the shagventure.

Well, funny you say that, I tried calling the physical store and got the customer support shuffle and the tech support that I got transferred to who called the store on my behalf said they wouldn't tell me what they could replace without me going into the Store.
Like again I WISH I was making this shit up, it's nonsensical, it's not worth the money nor time I've put into it, for a singular replacement airpod.

Bro, phone cameras are a fucking scam.
I upgraded from a phone with a 8MP camera to another with a 108MP one, and literally the only difference is that photos have bigger resolution and take more space.
They're actually worse, because all of them look fucking blurry, so all that extra resolution and size are waste. My older phone with 8MP at least can focus on the subject of the photo and make it look somewhat crisp.
How come a phone with a single 8MP camera is better with one with triple camera ('108 MP, f/1.7, (wide), 1/1.67", 0.64µm, PDAF 2 MP (macro) Auxiliary lens').
Because they're a fucking scam, that's why. The photos are no different from taking the shittiest blurriest photo you have and upscaling them with some program: it will be heavier and higher resolution, but still a shitty useless photo.

I actually wanted to do that, but I only had $120.
The cheapest flagship I could find was an S21 for $150-200, and this phone is already 5 years old. I would have to replace the battery at least, which would also add to the cost.
The Note 14 seemed a really good bang for buck. So far I'm satisfied with the phone, it's just the camera that's a complete scam.
>>
>>
>>
>>108995052
From what I see on GSMArena, the Samsung is newer and has better specs. I would keep it.
The iPhone is not only older and weaker, but you would also have to move your whole to that ecosystem and look for alternative apps to your Android ones.
>>
>>
>>108995130
The Apple A15 Bionic SoC inside the iPhone 13 vastly outperforms the Samsung Exynos 1280. The A15 Bionic is a premium flagship processor, while the Exynos 1280 is a budget-to-mid-range processor typically found in devices like the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G.
>>
>>
I'm thinking about whether I should get an S26 Ultra or not.
Is it true that Samsung phones are still having green line problems on their screens? I plan on using the phone for like 5–6 years, so I want to know beforehand.
And what about thermals? I saw some people say that the S26 Ultra has a humongous heatsink but the chip thermals are still shit.
>>
File: scamsung.png (249.3 KB)
>>108995193
yes it has a chance of getting green lines and yes people who use them to play AAA games need coolers since it gets too hot. same with all flagships using the same soc. some get devices that run hot without gaming too.
>>
>>108995130
Well, do you play games or run other processor-intensive apps? Most likely not, so the Samsung's processor should be enough.
And if you think it isn't, try debloating it first to remove all trash apps taking resources in the background.
>>
>>
>>108995213
>>108995226
So, unless I get one of those phones with built-in coolers or something like that, I can expect lots of thermal throttling and maybe a reduced battery lifespan ? Damn, I thought Android phones wouldn't have another Snapdragon 888 incident so soon

Any ideas why ublock origin is struggling to seamlessly block youtube ads but adguard works fine?
In the past month or so I've had to wait a while before the video starts playing and the duration is suspiciously like the ad has actually made it through but I can't see it, just a black player until it actually starts.
I don't want to use adguard but after trying a bunch of different methods to get origin to work I gave up and tried their extension and things work fine again.

How can I block ads in YouTube app?
AdAway reduces the amount but doesn't stop them completely, while apps like ReVanced and Morphe ask me to install MicroG which I read will cause conflicts with the Play Services already installed, and I'd rather not mess with the system unnecessarily.
Meanwhile, apps like Tubular/Newpipe don't work well. They only show me videos in 360p and don't load recent videos when visiting a channel.

Yeah, and even /r/sideloaded says the only ways to have over 3 sideloaded apps at one time on iOS is to either use a paid signing service (or buy an Apple dev cert for $95 a year) or use Live Container to bundle several sideloaded apps into one, but then they can't run in the background. I am using way more than 3 apps that don't exist on the iOS App Store but do exist as sideloaded apps, I don't want to have to pay money for something I can already do on Android or have to swap back and forth between what's sideloaded. I've been seriously considering a foldable, mainly for (3)DS emulation and book reading.
Book reading is probably fine on any foldable, but I'd like the cheapest and most available option that can handle 3DS emulation without the battery dying within 1 hour. I'm completely out of the loop on foldables and only know the Z Fold line.
I'll buy used, ideally I'd want something for around 500USD, I don't like buying things new and I'm pretty used to checking for flaws with the device in hands. Not sure if a foldable would have anything special to look for other than the internal screen appearance and how well the hinge holds a position.
I'm also comfortable replacing batteries, as long as the process is similar to a normal slab phone I'm fine with it. I did look on Ali for ZFold6 batteries and was kinda surprised to see not a single one listed, not sure what's going on.

Depending on the price I might end up doing that. Once one model sells out you don't save any money not getting the next one because the price gets scalped.

Because I don't switch phones every year (inflation is a bitch, 250% cumulative in 2 years). Software keeps getting more bloated year after year and you can't even turn off the bloat (apps auto-starting, shit running in the background without your consent, etc.) anymore without rooting and shit, which has become basically impossible thanks to play integrity.
>>
>>
>>109001549
>don't install shitty apps
Not my problem
24 is diminishing returns, 16 will be fine for a long time. Your Oinkitel Pigphone will be abandoned long before RAM becomes an issue, most ROMs including the chinks and the Samsung Chaebol aggressively kill off background apps so they can save battery life and be more like an iPhone with no multitasking.
>>109001555
Wideness is a killer.
>>
>>109001584
>the Samsung Chaebol aggressively kill off background apps
Not the built-in bloatware (e.g. google play)
When you buy a 16GB phone, half the ram belongs to the OS and the bloatware, and it will only get worse
>will be abandoned
Who cares? Android 9 phones still work. It'll take a decade until Android 15 is abandoned
>>
>>
>>109001667
>giving a shit about OS versions
As long the fucking app runs, the OS is irrelevant
The only reason to update an OS is because kikes decided to disable functionality to get you to update (more like downgrade)

Chinks did this years ago and perfected it, so did Google but theirs kind of sucked. I just want a modern version of picrel. Z Fold Wide aspect ratio is way too square.

TechNick is a very reliable smartphone reviewer who benchmarks them properly and documents the tests on video. really honest way of doing things so idc what anyone says lol.

the new soc in the red magic 11s is the same mid overclocked snapdragon in the s26 ultra. the red magic 11 is better since its not the overclocked soc that runs too hot and the same one found in the oneplus 15.

Lads am I screwed?
I closed the tab and deleted history but I’m unsure if I downloaded something bad.
Windows defender will be enough to catch the viruses if I move my files off the phone right?
I haven’t gotten a replacement as this old machine still works.

The OnePlus 15 should have come with a built in fan and liquid cooling like the Chad Red Magic 11. I own both and the rm11 is better for sustainable heavy workloads and gaming.

Need a phone recommendation.
What’s a good secure phone that I can use most likely use for a long time?
Not looking for games. Browsing web, Saving images and files and texting and calling.
Usable over 10 years like the anon above me?
Is apple really that secure or is there is a phone out now that is just as secure as apple computers and phones?
I want a phone
>>
>>
>>109002247
Kind of.
The tab just opened if I remember correctly and I deleted the tab and then went to delete my history.
I need a new phone.
Most apps don’t work with my iOS limitations so no Adblock for me as far as I know.

lol not true at all unless you own the networks and cell towers and unless you own the company making the apps collecting data; everything you’re doing on your phone is being watched. Stop lying to people. Snowden NSA leaks happened in 2012, he covered this. very soon with quantum AI computing there will be no such thing as privacy or security.

Thanks!
I was hoping for something reasonably priced in this current age of techs being overpriced because ai driving up hardware costs.
When I speak security I mean not getting my phone filled with viruses and malware etc.
Any further recommendations?
I’ve heard apple products have gotten real bad so I’m not entirely sure on them now.

How will Stallman survive when his bank account becomes inaccessible without a smartphone?
How will he survive when he can't browse the web anymore (including government and banking websites) because recaptcha requires remote attestation, a TPM, and secure boot?

NextDNS has legit custom profiles from very heavily used filters. The novices are showing they have 0 clues about this. You can use other DNS companies with the same blocklists kek.

Why do people still buy Samsung? It's really depressing that that's the closest thing to challenge Apple.
>>
>>
>>
>>109003494
That's a good point. Every time I look at carrier deals it always seems like they're trying to sell some Samsung.
>>109003512
Samsung is Korean though, just a different type of chink shit. They're good at making solid state drives though, but I'd never buy their phones.
>>
>>
>>109003528
Pixel is good though and 'Murican not Chink shit. It should be more recognised.
I'm waiting to see the Pixel 11. Hardware wise they're not always the most powerful but the software isn't full of crap.
Which other phones besides them are the closest to AOSP?
>>
>>
>>109003580
If you connect it to a cell tower you're fucked anyway.
>>109002537
Stallman was right.
You can't own a phone if you care about all the spying. Even if you re-flash the phone with Graphene (which you can do with Pixel phones but I don't because I quite like to use the apps that require the shitty Play Protect DRM) isn't immune if you're connecting it to a radio somewhere (which you are since it's a phone, that's the point of the thing)

If I have to avoid apple products what phone should I get instead that has the security apple’s iOS is said to have alongside easily getting an adblocker up and running? Like ublockorigin quality as I’ve had good luck with that one.

>any android phone
Alright.
I’m just looking for a secure and reliable workhorse of a phone and preferably not priced like apple phones.
I don’t remember gaming ever on my current old iToddler.
What should I do besides evacuating files off this iPhone?
Had difficulties trying to use the iCloud feature so maybe some apps that support iOS 15 are needed.
And I’ll hold onto this phone to check all my accounts that use 2fa with phone to move them to the new one.
Any other advice?
And can I get some context stories on the “fantass apple troll” mentioned in the OP?

Flagship phone gives you much smoother experience but you really should stick with a budget phone and get a real computer.
Otherwise you might become insane and start spamming /spg/ for validation.
