thermaltake showcased yesterday this case which they claim has a retro look on it
it comes equipped with a front panel 3.5" floppy drive look a like but it doesnt function its just for show
you can also swap the "drive" with a blank white slate
the two 5.25" installation slots can be fitted with 6" thermaltake TFT screen (it takes both 5.25" slots and thats why the screen is classed 6" instead of 5.25")
screen is optional for extra price
the case comes with blank white covers for 5.25 installation slots
there is a big window in the case which takes away a bit from retro look since cases in 1999 didnt really have a window

Thermaltake is notorious for always plagiarizing the competition instead of coming up with their own shit. They saw the interest Silverstone's FLP02 got and half-assed something to ape their case, while completely missing the target audience. Silverstone's case genuinely looks retro and has proper 5.25" bays, Thermaltake's is whatever the fuck that's worse in every conceivable way.

Yeah but thermaltake's version is like $70usd vs $250 for silverstone.
I think both look like shit, so if someone's gonna get an ugly ass case, they might as well save $180 and get the thermaltake.

fpbp.
I wish we'd actually go back to making beautiful tech instead of this "retro" slop. >>108999392 looks okay I guess (assuming the 7segs and the lock even do anything and aren't just full LARP) but I'm autistic so those fake plastic floppy drive slots piss me off so I'd never actually consider using one.

Silverstone has a gay little demo on their product page.
https://www.silverstonetek.com/en/product/info/computer-chassis/flp02/
The key locks the power/reset buttons, it has an integrated fan hub, the display shows fan speed, Turbo is a 100% fan speed toggle. And yeah the worst part about it are those fake floppy covers, the PS/2 style covers would look way way better.

To add insult to injury, they introduced non-retarded covers on their upcoming FLP03 they've showcased this week, but this is a microATX variant. Picrel has the retro plastic cover off to show the 180mm front fan. It's a cool concept to mix retro aesthetics with modern internal design.

Why is /g/ against fake retro and larping / genuinely "going back" especially when current stuff suck? Not just for the case in OP's pic (which does suck) but in general. Silverstone looks good and that + a 4:3 monitor + Linux KDE with Windows 9x theme would be pure soul.

Those where tens of thousands in 2026 dollars so it was not a problem to drop a cool million to some renowned industrial designer to make kino cases.
Whole ps/2 line including the M keyboard was designed by Richard Sapper.

Not gonna lie I wouldn’t mind a beige pc case.
I’m also born in 1999 so it would take me back to the best months of my life where I could diaper shit and scream and cry and wouldn’t get in trouble for it.
So what are some other beige retro looking pc cases?
Preferably where the case is full tower and has see through plastic so I can see the dust build up.

Yeah, this is fine. They just need to stop putting stupid fake floppy drives and make beige 90's inspired designs with modern functionality like this. I'd much prefer a rocker power switch like that instead of a push button one.
