Trying to scream about reparations to a British conservative who is proud of British contribution to ending slavery will expose him as hypocrite if he denies you being right, Britain was at the forefront of abolishing slavery but also tolerated slaveowning countries for centuries and practiced the institution for even longer. Does participating in slavery have a status of limitation? If so doesn't participating in anti-slavery should eventually stop being a point of honour and you can't use it as a shield about whatever other grievance a brown person will hurl at you.
