Whats the difference between “Esoteric Christianity” and Gnosticism?

gnosticism is something ancient gnostics made up to justify their own bullshit beliefs and just took whatever was present before jesus and put it into his mouth in their freak shit texts. esoteric christianity is basically right in intentions. but christ unity is the goal. thats where the gnostics were right. catholic doctrine this is why its hidden away is that you as a man can become one with christ and pope pius thought or perhaps did achieve unity with the christ godhead. i say perhaps because i didnt meet him cant evaluate but his own words show he was at least on the road there.

Gnosticism comes from Platonism which is generally cynical toward divine characters and thus not really Christian.
Esoteric Christianity tends to remap a lot of random esotericism, primarily from Judaism and Alchemy. It usually is for the sake of filling in the thinness of Christian theology which fails to address the complex landscapes of psychology and mysticism.

Gnosis comes from "knowledge", which is the same thing humans gained after eating the fruit mentioned in Genesis. They believe that if the consequence of man studying science/gaining knowledhe is current society with all of its vices, then the knowledge gained from said study or wisdom is useless. This point of view makes them reject the order created in genesis (or the interpretation that built society in their/our era)... their other traditions/beliefs varied from sect to sect; some believing in divination by reading passages of the scriptures (interpretating them as prophecies for each individual/collective), others followed a schizo who gave them believable interpretations, etc.
They all got persecuted cause they rejected the system (specifically taxes/money)
