What's with the weird right winger affinity for AI art? Does it originate from the recent alliance between the american right and Silicon Valley, a desire to spite the more often than not left-leaning creatives, or both?

I want to say it's an impulse to "democratize" everything but I don't know if that fully captures it.
The modern right simply rejects anything that comes from the "elite" class (unless that member of the elite class is a fellow right-winger).
Notice that the far-right argument for AI art is not that it's good (because no one could argue that it is in good faith) but that it's a way to stick it to those stuck-up liberal artists?
Trump is a good president despite being a senile retard who routinely betrays his supporters because he sticks it to the corrupt swamp.
The earth is flat because that belief really sticks it to those egghead scientists who think they're so much smarter than us.
God is real because it makes those asshole fedoras seethe.
It's spite politics.

Your conception of God is a lie. Only Zeus is the absolute ruler of the universe, not your beloved shitstain demon Yahweh-Typhon. The Logos is a Greek philosophical concept that predates Christianity and Greco-Roman philosophers identified the Logos with Zeus, not some 1st century Judean preacher.

it's not art at all. Art is a human expressing something through technical craft. The image generated itself expresses something (though I don't know or care what the significance of it is and who Bart Ehrman is) but the actual craft of the image says nothing. The whole thing is entirely lacking in purpose or meaning beyond the intended message. In fact there's lots of little details in there that a human would never include, like the bald guy unsuccessfully making eye-contact with god, and the bald guy's pen connecting with the blueprint but not lining up with any of the things he wrote down, instead just floating arbitrarily in an unused part of the paper.

The fact that no matter how photorealistic a picture looks you can always tell if it's AI-generated is damning proof soul is real.

they can, but it expresses nothing. It would be an arbitrary thing to depict. And sometimes depicting something arbitrary can have a point, but AI art never has a point because there is no intentionality behind anything it does. It's pure noise.

The "test" for intentionality is whether a human sat down and said "I'm going to do X instead of Y." It implies a conscious decision to do something or to omit to do something else.
In terms of art, intentionality exists when the artist decides that he will depict such and such thing via such and such methods to express such and such sentiment.

>the AI artist who wrote the prompt decided it, so there is intentionality.
Yes, I already said that. There is intentionality with respect to the overall image created, but there is no expression contained within the technical craft.
Expression inheres in every fabric of a canvas. The decision to use one color over another, to make the image darker or lighter, the size of the canvas, whether to make a straight line or a bendy one, etc. These are all intentional acts of expression manifested in technical craft.
AI doesn't do this. Your image is a composite of a bunch of other random images fed into the AI model. If a human made the OP pic, he would've intended that the bald guy's pen was over the words he was writing, to express unequivocally that these are the words of this Bart Ehrman guy. The artist would have intended that Bart and god lock eyes, to state unequivocally that the subjects of the image are directly in tension with one another. The artist would have intended that the portion of the canvas around god be significantly brighter than Bart. Etc., etc.
But AI intends and expresses nothing so it just did whatever.

Why is the world such an awful place to live in, isn’t God supposed to make things better? After all, there are innocent humans being born every day that have to deal with the mistakes of previous humans. What does this God do exactly to make things better?

AI is the perfect tool to destroy the leftist captured humanities. It disproves all their theories about art and culture. Critical theory, theories of aesthetics, will all be disposed of. We are sick of leftists making 100k to draw a squiggle of a tranny that all must praise or lose their job, and I will enjoy seeing these leftists sleeping on the streets and begging for food. I will laugh at them and film them, and upload their degeneracy onto X, where many will mock and laugh. Leftism is over, and leftists will suffer punishment for what they have put America through.

This is Christianity in 2026, apparently. Supporting Silicon Valley billionaires purely because it "owns le leftists and troons".

Why do you assume its American? Or even Evangelical? You sure assume a lot for a place built on anonymity. Thats the problem, you rationalize things that are best left hidden. So you're an atheist, right?

There are no creatives on the right. Virtually every good artist, musician, writer, actor, etc etc are all left leaning to some extent or another. So of course when these soulless golems see a chance to create "art" that expresses their basic bitch politics or worldview, they go crazy. Finally, those damn liberals aren't in control of popular culture and they can make their own art and music with this new AI thing!
That they can gloat about all those liberal artists supposedly losing work to AI is just the cherry on top. In case you hadn't noticed, they tend to be very bitter and hateful people despite professing to follow a religion that preaches the opposite.

Your average neocon rightwinger that you see online actually lives somewhere in India and is worshiping rightwinger culture warriors in the West as an expression of his own insecurity. Because he's fundamentally a talentless, low IQ, brown manlet with 0 prospects in life, AI art is all he can produce as a creative outlet.
