This appears to have been mainly out of concern for their well-being as Joseph knew the likely reception Jews would get in those towns.

I will never understand white people claiming they are smart and full of the Faustian spirit and all that stupid bullshit when all their leaders at every single point in history have made them kneel to jews, it is insane for me to think they have national pride in their ethnicity and nations when again, their own white leaders were like "yeah you gotta love the jews now or else!". Insane.
