I'm a big fan of the stance the Roman Catholic Church has taken over the years on war. I don't really know how those who claim that church always has been and always will be the One True Church reconcile its contemporary stance on warfare with the vivid contrast of medieval popes declaring crusades. Regardless, I like the contemporary Roman Catholic Church's stances more than most Protestant churches. I believe it would do them good to take the full plunge like Anabaptists and totally disavow any and all Christian participation in warfare.
