>Speaking in 1912, Roosevelt said of the Panama Canal, "Were I to do things the traditional way, I would have drafted a long, carefully-worded proposal and submitted it to Congress, and they would still be debating over it. Instead, I took matters into my own hands and so the work on the canal goes on, and the debates go on as well."

This is why he is a great leader, and also why I don't understand why so many faggots nowadays cry about authoritarianism. Like, ¿How are people (especially modern White liberals in Europe and the USA) so willfully ignorant and blind that they hate strong executive figures like a strong president actually getting shit on? It makes no fucking sense to me because they also cream their pants over FDR and Angela Merkel, authoritarian bastards that did what they wanted first while letting the lesser politicians waste their time debating. Yet they look at other leaders trying to actually fix shit in modern times and they immediately jump in anger and stupidity "nooooo, what you are doing is evil, you have to let corrupt politicians debate your laws forever and never do anything".
Even the Greeks knew democracy was worthless and needed only because people need to find "philosopher kings" first to rule. We already have philosopher kings, but nobody wants to let them rule even when they could advance civilization further. Look at China, they actually fucking understand they need to let the leader run things unopposed and Deng Xiaoping made them into the second strongest nation in the world. Every single great nation in history was ruled by some strongman bastard doing things his way. Every single great nation was authoritarian. There isn't a single example of a "democratic soi republic where everyone has a say" achieving anything. At best they remained neutral and irrelevant like switzerland.
