Americans are obnoxiously patriotic, this is common knowledge. They should be more like Germans, in Deutschland such crass displays of nationalistic chauvinism are looked down upon and rightly so.

80s Japan was to the US was China is today. In both cases, instead of competing fairly on an economic ground, Americans decided to just try to destroy their rival. In the case of Japan, it was a success and their economy has been stagnating since the 90s. China will win this time, though.

China's economy is already stagnating exactly the same way that Japan's was, including a Property Sector Crisis that's been ongoing since 2020 which resulted in the collapse of one of their largest development companies. In fact, the parallels between the two are fairly striking

they worship American exceptionalism but don't like the reality where all their most successful capitalists are conmen that import foreign intellects or go abroad to hire foreign workers.

Ironically Japan makes most of their US sold cars in the US now. They've had a manufacturing plant in my state since the late 80s.

>struggled to compete
More like "got betrayed and sabotaged by their government in favor of foreigners"
>>

(the betrayal was allowing competition to exist against their inferior product)
